YALE Supplement: HELP

When I try to get Yale's Supplement, it says it hasn't been released yet according to the Common App site. Does anyone know when it will be available?

Thanks for your help!

Yale's supplement should be available around September 1st.

For the past 3 years, the supplement has contained roughly the same questions in the same format. In 2010-2011, the supplemental questions were:

What in particular about Yale has influenced your decision to apply? (500 characters)

You have already told us about yourself in the Common Application, with its list of activities, the Short Answer, and the Personal Essay. While we leave the topic of your second essay entirely up to you, try telling us something about yourself that you believe we cannot learn elsewhere in your application. Please limit yourself to fewer than 500 words.

Short Takes (please respond in 25 words or less):
A) What would you do with a free afternoon tomorrow?
B) Recall a compliment you received that you especially value. What was it? From whom did it come?
C) If you could witness one moment in history, what would it be and why?
D) What do you wish you were better at being or doing?
E) If you were choosing students to form a Yale class, what question would you ask here that we have not?

Can someone reword D? I'm not sure I get it... But I really like this supplement

Your question is an excellent example of when you should try using the Search function before asking a question. Searching 'supplement' would have gotten you several hits, including this thread from 3 days ago:

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/1191186-yale-supplements.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/1191186-yale-supplements.html</a></p>

Not all questions work as well, but if there's a distinctive search word, it can be very helpful.

Thank you for your help!

If the supplement is the same this year, take note the the Why Yale question is 500 characters... (not words, which will be at the forefront of your thinking as your craft your common app essay). It stinks to write a beautiful 500 word essay on why you love Yale so much only to have about 1/8 of it fit into the text box!

^Yeah, I was thinking about the character limit for the Why Yale essay...I have a lot to say, but I probably won't be able to fit it all in. Does anybody have any advice on whether or not somebody should stick to one thing they like about Yale, and elaborate on that, or try to include a few things (just with fewer details on each one)?

The main advice I would give on "Why Yale" is that Yale doesn't need compliments. You should talk about why Yale is specifically a good fit for you, and what you would bring to contribute to the campus.
