Has anyone ever participated in the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program at Yale before? I was wondering how they typically notify applicants of their status…since the application itself had to be sent via snail mail, does that mean Yale sends their decision via snail mail too?

I would greatly appreciate comments on this topic, as I am currently trying to decide on where to go this summer. Thanks.

I believe my friend applied to this and found out by email on Friday. He didn’t get in so maybe your chances are better.

Thanks. Actually I haven’t received an email from Yale yet so I’m getting really worried…

Hi. I actually went to Yale’s SURF Program last year. I got notified on April 6. My friends who applied this year received a notification saying they had no offer at the Leadership Alliance website two weeks ago. Try writing to them and ask about the status of your application. Good luck!

And I got notified via e-mail.

Hey natalie7707, thanks for your reply! I haven’t heard back from Yale yet, so I’ll give them a call later this week and find out. (I just want to know the status of my application because I need to hurry and let another program know whether I want to attend, if I don’t receive positive news from Yale).

I applied this year and I haven’t heard anything yet either.

^Really? I thought I was the only one on this boat haha…the deadline for my other program is next Monday, so I really need to know from Yale soon
Maybe no answer = waitlist?

Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking since they already have accepted and rejected other people.

So you are going to call them?

Been calling for the past hour. No response.

Guess I’m sending the forms in for my other program.

Gosh.

/rant

Yeah, I already accepted another program too.
