Yale trustee in the 1800s - legacy?

My best friend is a plain-out New England WASP. She wishes not to join CC but instead wants to use me as her Abraham.

Both of my best friend’s parents are Harvard alumni (mother of Radcliffe, father of Harvard Law). Her mother’s father is a Yale alumnus, as are his 12 siblings. Her grand-uncle was a trustee of Yale University and was top contender for university presidency (however graced by Timothy Dwight).

Will Yale see view her as a legacy?

Depends how much money her family has given. ;)

Yes, she is a legacy by Yale’s definition (grandparents). How much it helps depends on how close the family has remained with the school (spelled ‘money’)

You all are so cute.

The family has remained without the school for one hundred years. There’s a building on campus named after them, but the family took their education enterprises elsewhere.
