Probably doesn’t mean anything, portal signs are basically never indicative of anything.
Hm, then, who knows? I’d say don’t look too deeply into it. We’ll find out soon enough, anyhow.
Hi, that’s me. I made a follow up post but it literally was expected because he told me the basic convo would’ve been 60-75 mins anyways and then he asked me if I wanted to keep going at 65, and I said why not. He also told me it was within his personal philosophy to do longer interviews. I’m definitely not the norm though.
This is interesting. Just curious to know why there seems to be such a big difference between alumni and senior (current student) interviews from what I’m seeing on the threads? Senior interviews seem to be short and more a Q&A format whereas alumni interviews are longer and discuss a wide array of topics? If an applicant is asked for a senior interview very close to the decision date, wondering whether this still means that there is not sufficient info on the application so they need to clarify? But it does seem quite late in the review process to do this?
Have any of you set up FedEx alerts? It’s supposed to send a notification that you’ll be receiving a package from New Haven a little bit before decisions come out if you got in.
hmmm i just did after i saw this haha but i didnt see anything
How do you do this?
this is crazy ngl, and reads to be superstition, dont do it.
Yeah IK people (including me) that had shorter, 30-45 min conversations. Mine said they do 30-45 min convos.
It’s worked in the past, I don’t think receiving a package from New Haven would be superstition
Same here
i think it’s a great sign for u!
I’m just stressing out about how I only got to ask 1 question…
My interview was 90 minutes and I only had the opportunity to ask one question. Don’t sweat it!
how do you set up fedex alerts?
Download the FedEx app and input the information it asks for like your name, address, etc. to track your packages. Then turn on notifications.
I did that, but there are no packages listed as being delivered. Does that mean I’m rejected?
Is it even for sure that they send a FEDEX. There was a post on reddit with someone making the same suggestion (FEDEX alert signup) but with a picture posted showing an expected delivery from May 2023 (presumably, based on timing, a welcome package from Yale - not the admissions decision).
They may not have sent it yet.
The welcome package comes around the same time as the acceptance, hence why people can track the package a little bit before the decision comes out.
Earlier on the same day? Or even before?
