Yale vs USC full ride

Yale will get you in the door to Yale Law school more easily than USC.

No one turns down YLS bcos they “can’t afford it” as Yale offers need-based aid. Secondly, anyone getting into YLS will have multiple offers in the T14, nearly all with big merit money, including possible full rides.

I’d vote Yale. The 'rents can cover undergrad in New Haven and grad is all on you.

Law school is not like undergrad- there is no “meets need” thing. OP could indeed get accepted and not be able to afford it- or need huge loans. Unlike undergrad, huge loans for law school are available.

And yes, Yale law school does accept it’s own at a higher rate- 11% v 6% for applicants from other undergrad institutions. So a meaningful boost but 89% are still rejected.

Right, so doughnut hole families don’t exist, right? After all, all the Ivies/equivalents cover full-need for all for undergrad.

Possibly. Though it’s tough to determine as the overall quality of applicants is also different. Which means it’s difficult to say for the same applicant.

From Yale Law’s financial aid page:

That’s for one year.
