Yale waitlist

Hi,
does anyone have any idea what kind of number are on Yale’s waitlist/whether or not there are often admissions from it? I am stuck not knowing how to plan the next couple of months of my life while waiting for a final response.

Also in their statistics what is the definition of admitted versus enrolled? Are waitlisted students included in the admitted number? I have no idea what it means

Hmm

The transfer yield for Yale is basically 100% so I would not count on an acceptance from the waitlist. It is best to go on ahead with your plans, as a waitlist is basically a soft denial.

Sorry I can’t answer your questions, OP, but I know someone who got accepted to Yale and he’s definitely not going. At least one of you waitlistees is going to get in.

I hope that helps your agonizing waitlist situation. :)

For your latter questions, the accepted students number is composed of students that have been granted admission, usually this does not include waitlisted applicants. The enrolled students figure is composed of students that accepted their admission and decided to attend.

Thanks guys, and thanks lenora at least I’m in with a chance :)
