@MackStarlight @carpediem1234 okk i hope so! i’m concerned abt the rolling admissions thing though, so i want to submit everything v soon
Hey everyone! I was accepted early action into LPC Session 3. Anyone else? I’d love to make a group chat or something.
@MackStarlight there’s a WhatsApp group chat that’s basically for everyone we can find that’s been accepted so far. It’s not just LPC III though, it’s from all the sessions.
I got into ASE too!! my insta is @alinaermoglio
for any past participants: is yygs really worth it? the tuition is kinda hefty for my family to pay, and i know for a fact that I will get barely any financial aide. it seems like a great experience, but the cost is kind of a turn off
As an LPC alum, congrats! I found it a great experience. Just make sure to bring your own water bottles. If you’re living in Edwards, they don’t provide running water except in the bathrooms. Also, don’t miss any lectures by Dr. Toorawa, he’s amazing.
Well I haven’t finished any of the essays yet lol! But im so nervous ahhh like I was talking to my parents about it and the response they give me is “you won’t get in” which makes me angry and want to prove them wrong. Anyways good luck to everyone applying!!
i got into bbs1 with a full financial aid offer!! (early action) is anyone else in bbs1 as of now? i’m also willing to share stats if anyone wants to know:)
Is there no option to add test scores to your application this year?
@user_776288 From the YYGS FAQ - they mentioned:
YYGS no longer accepts standardized test scores of any kind from any applicants, and we encourage other summer programs, colleges, and universities to make the same decision as they evolve their holistic admissions processes to be more equitable. Learn more (link is external) about research and documentaries about this issue.
YYGS does offer the option for students to send in English fluency test scores (i.e. TOEFL and/or Duolingo), which students can provide as part of our online application.

hey guys! im just wondering but did you guys answer the fast-takes in complete sentences because I’m having a hard time fitting my answer into 140 characters. thanks!
For those who got accepted to the program. Congrat. I do have a question, do you put your session choices for the same program or do you switch around? I see that as soon as you choose one program as your 1st session, you can’t choose the same for the 2nd and 3rd sessions. Is that what you are seeing?
Thanks!
I didn’t use complete sentences, just phrases, otherwise I had a hard time fitting it all into 140 characters too
@Magicarp14 I did them in complete sentences, but I think for each fast take I probably had only one or two sentences… I agree, the character limit is crazy short.
@chance11 I think that is the case. They will probably consider you for each session in the order of the the session number you listed? I’m just assuming, so don’t quote me on it! ?
@cici18 since there aren’t any places to report official score reports, i added on the achievements page that i got a 1590 (superscored) on the sat and a 36 (one sitting) on the act!! my grades on the transcript are all As and gpa is 4.23 weighted. on my essays, for the long one, i wrote about my experience at duketip last year and how i loved it and learned from it so much that i want to have that same experience at this camp. for my short essay, i wrote about community service and how i hold a leadership position at my school where i go to various centers around the city to tutor kids who are living in unstable environments. the other “achievements” i noted were that i was the concertmaster in my school’s orch and that im a worship leader/sunday school teacher at my church lolll (i didn’t have anything to write)
but tbh, i think i mostly got the full ride because of my financial aid application where i talked about how hard my family’s financial situation is right now and was just really polite about the whole thing. i hope this helped!! please let me know if you have other questions:)
@alyssakim do you use Reddit ? I was wondering if you can review my essay ?
@alyssakim Thanks for sharing your stats and what you wrote about your 500 and 200 essays. Very impressive and you definitely deserve the full ride and accepted.
I am curious for the 140 characters fast take did you use complete sentences or phrases to squeeze in more meaningful words?
@cici18 i don’t use reddit, but, if you have insta, you can send it to me on there! (@alyssakim_)
