Yale

My biggest dream is to go to Yale and pursue a double major in law and drama. i’m still young. like very young. but i’m very interested. is there anything i need to know? what is the process? how many years will it take? help? and do stick in any important things that would help as well! thanks in advance!

why Yale? There are hundreds of colleges with lovely gothic buildings, smart students, a variety of possible majors and activities. Yale is great (my daughter went there) but it is not the be-all-and-end-all in the collegiate world.

Well for starters, there is no such thing as a law major. Nor is there a drama major - it’s theater arts, which requires both theoretical coursework as well as studio/practical courses.

I think you need to do a lot more research into Yale, as well as other colleges, to find a list of colleges that you can afford, as well as having a mix of reach/match/safeties. Since you don’t list your age/HS class, it’s hard to advise you on other “next steps.” Yale might be your “biggest dream,” but considering Yale rejects 95% of its applicants, it’s a pipe dream for most. Good luck.

okay yale is currently my dream but i’m happy to consider other places! i really just want to do both drama and law. help?

I don’t think you can do law as an undergrad in the US, and hearsay has it that most prelaw majors aren’t good preparation for law school.

If you really want to study undergraduate law along with drama, have you considered studying in the UK or Australia? I know they have undergraduate law and sometimes you can do two degrees at once…
