Yale's prompt? I'm stuck?

The prompt is: Reflect on your engagement with a community to which you belong. How do you feel you have contributed to this community?

I’m thinking of writing an essay about my youth symphony orchestra experience and how I managed to became a section leader with in a year for my rehearsal group. I wrote about how being part of something greater than myself is breathtaking and also wrote about I want to help out the new players just like how the orchestra helped me when i first joined… (sorry if that doesn’t make sense my brain is fried)

I really don’t have any community to talk about other than the orchestra. Would that be a good idea?

What does “How do you feel you have contributed to this community?” even mean? Is it looking for what I’ll offer on their campus? I really don’t know what to talk about. I’ve been stuck on this essay for two days and I want to die

I’m having the exact same problem ;;;;-;;;;;; idek what to write about

I think they’re trying to get an idea of what kind of person you are and see your caring and selfess side and how you would fit into the yale community

@littlecorvidae : Your essay idea is excellent. You are stuck because you are overthinking the prompt.
