During an interview W magazine published Wednesday, the “Black-ish” star talked about the support she’s received from the former first lady, who penned recommendation letters to four universities, including her alma mater Harvard. *
Of course with “Star of hit sitcom” on your activities list, your recommendation letter is probably less important.

I love Blackish. We see so much of our family in them, even their parents. I hope she appears in some episodes but Diane is my favorite
I also love Black*ish. Just today ds2 texted me that in his Religion and Politics class he kept thinking of Junior singing “How Sweet It Is” during a discussion of mainline Protestant churches.
As a bicultural family we are Mexican*ish. My husband relates to Andre soooo much. Growing up poor, education, success, and crazy relatives.
Never heard of her. Neither have my kids.

She may have to take a gap year/s as there are talks of her starring in a Blackish spinoff.

Michelle Obama’s alma mater is Princeton, no? She went to Harvard Law School, but that’s not the same.
I will admit to not recognizing Shahidi’s name, but anyone who hasn’t looked at black-ish ought to. I don’t have much tolerance for sitcoms, but that’s a very good one, and it’s Important in the way a handful of popular TV shows sometimes are. She (and everyone else) is very good in it; she’s effectively this generation’s Lisa Bonet.
