Yes I Care...

I do… unfortunately… care about material and superficial things such as prestige, more specifically regarding Emory University. I’d appreciate insight, comparisons, and regional opinions on Emory.

P.S. - I already got in ED and I love the school, but I’m curious as to how it’s viewed by others. Thanks.

I was applying to the Emory Scholars program (although I got accepted somewhere else ED so I had to withdraw), but I’ve heard nothing but good things about the school. Congratulations on your acceptance!

I know of two Canadian professors in my family who have been offered really good paying jobs at Emory. I think of Emory as a presigious, wealthy university.

Jkh, Congratulations on your acceptance to Emory. My personal view is that Emory is a wonderful school, with lots of terrific opportunities. You’ll get a great education there. However, the Emory name is probably most recognized and considered prestigious by the general public in the southeast, although its recognition is growing in the Northeast as well. On the west coast, Emory is not very well known by the general public. Of course, those “in the know” know Emory’s quality no matter where they live - that includes employers and graduate and professional schools.
