<p>I do have a thermometer that I use to cook everything in the oven that is meat related. I bought one a few months ago because my oven is impossible to cook in without it. Otherwise I’d be cutting into some awfully pink chicken at the time it is expected to be done - lol!</p>
<p>It has top and bottom. I know the bottom works as I see it lit up. I haven’t looked at the top one to see if it was lit up or not - it’s kind of recessed a bit so you gotta get down low to look at that! I’ll make something in the next couple days and check.</p>
<p>Do ovens with both use both of them 100% of the time?</p>
<p>I believe when you turn on the oven both elements should come on, but its possible that only the bottom comes on when you bake. To test it, put the oven on broil as that turns on the top element, and see if it works.</p>
