• Can cook traditional Indian dishes

Wow man, that is a lot of ECs (and wats up with that I cook indian dishes? you going to mention it on your app?) Your SAT’s are alright, but again, your ECs are awesome. I’m a bit worried though because they look so diverse, if you can somehow bring out this “well rounded” persona good for you, otherwise some of them might look really random to the admissions ppl.

Shorten your EC list. You have a good chance.

Forget all the rest of it – you have 1,297 seniors at your school? That must be more than 4,000 students at a 3-year high school, right? Wow. My son’s whole school is about the size of your class.

Cut the skills section, esp. the cooking.

Reach…I think you have lots of great EC’s but no clear focus in any one or two areas

First of all, Washu is a private university, so it does not matter than you’re from out of state. The majority of students are out of state. In fact, I know I lot of people from Texas here (including my roomate) so don’t worry about it.

I did a lot of ECs in highschool. But I never mentioned them all on any application. I think the key is to pick out ones you like a lot, and did consistently for a long time. Cut out “skills” section. Don’t list seminars that you attended. Overkill is unneccessary.
