My school of choice is Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

Unfortunately, my school (although it is THE top school in the state, does not offer good computer classes. They even discontinued all programming classes, that angered me greatly).

Intended major: Computer Engineering
Second choice: Computer Science
Third Choice: Software Engineering

Extracurricular activities: a bunch of miscellaneous hobbies, I’m not going to list them all here. The most notable thing is being the founder of a Programming club as a result to the school discontinuing all programming courses.

GPA (as of end of junior year): 4.0688 / 5.0 (3.25 / 4.0)

Class rank (thankfully the school just decided to abolish it this year!): 63/170 about top 37%.

SAT I: 610 m / 510 v (1120 total)
AP US History: 1 (I thought I did really well, but the score is a 1 most likely because I was probably ■■■■■■■■ enough to select the wrong test in the bubble, I need to get my test regraded if it’s even possible).

You may think I’m not doing that great, but you know what? I do not care because in the end, I win! Not to mention the fact that my HS is THE top HS in the state, where the GPAs are so close together that a difference of .1 can make the difference between being number 20 and number 60.

I also applied to RIT for early decision, which puts me in a separate pool of applicants, a pool that makes me more likely to be accepted. In addition, my senior year course load gives me an advantage. I also had an interview with an admissions counselor. In addition, this college looks most heavily on the transcript.

Alright, enough of this nonsense! What do you guys think?

My guess is you guys are going to be the typical people here and say “■■■■, I don’t know how you live with yourself with an 1120 SAT score” Recently I saw some kid getting angry over a 1590.

Any normal people here?

Given the fact that RIT is nothing like MIT (even through it strives to be more like MIT–with the exception of insanely high test scores), and that RIT’s acceptance rate for regular admissions is 69% and 76% for early decision, I think I have a good chance of being accepted. I am borderline (but leaning more towards being accepted), but I am by no means automatically denied (contrary to what most of you think).
