<p>I am a rising senior, female, from the eastern shore of maryland.
I fell in love with brown on a college tour a few months ago, and will probably apply early decision. I am a good writer and very interested in studying english or journalism in college.</p>

horseback riding and related activities since 8th grade, including 4h, teaching lessons, counseling at horse camps. i do all sorts of activities from dressage to rodeos, jumping to jousting.</p>

<p>*I know it probably looks bad that many of my extra curriculars start in 11th grade, but before that, almost all of my free time was devoted to my horses. I had kind of figured i would end up doing something with horses as a career up until very recently. Then, the summer after 10th grade i really started thinking about my future and decided horses would always be more of a hobby for me and that i should think about other options, hence the spike in school related activities my junior year. Joining newspaper this year has helped me discover my interest in writing. Anyway, thats my story, and i hope i can find a way to express it in my applications.</p>

<p>Also, my grandfather went to brown. I don’t know if alumni relations are super important, and especially a generation away, but i figure i should throw that out there.</p>
<p>I am confident in my writing and will probably have a good essay, and very good recommendations. </p>
<p>I figure right now I am about average as an applicant, but to be honest, this whole application process is blowing my mind! thoughts?</p>
