Hi, sorry this is a really old question… but I cant find the yield percentage for Milton! help please!

I know it’s pretty high. Milton, as I’m sure you know is 50% day, so I would say like 80%+ of day students go. However, if your a boarder, that rate is far less, however, the wait list takes these yields into account. So, if Milton expects a 50% boarder yield, and only 45% yield goes, then 5% will come off the waitlist. The good news is, U.S. News hs an article saying yeilds at top BS’s will largely drop, because applicants are applying to so many more schools on average, so it’s better than previous years if your on a waitlist like you and me to schools with amazing yeilds. You probably already know this though.
Hope this helps!

but you see… this year there is only 10 spots for juniors… :l so even if the yield is lower… it won’t help much

people on waitlist < # people rejected… correct? hopefully…

i really think you have a chance… call them and ask them upfront, “how far am i from the top? milton is my soul mate and i won’t be able to sleep until i know. is there anything i can do to demonstrate how i could add to your community?” send in extra essays, get extra letters of rec (even from the same people), more art, etc. tell them you don’t want to go anywhere else.

I would assume so, Milton has a ton of applicants for upper years from Boston, are you a boarder from outside MA?

thanks for the advice blair, I’ll do what I can. Oh and congrats on the acceptance!!

Yeah I am a boarder. They said they won’t accept 11th grade day students… for some reason.

Msu!!!

Right now…if your still considering a spot at milton…I’m one of your competitors…lol…im gonna fight you for that spot b/c if i get accepted…i will 99.9999 percent go there because of great academics and sailing.

I am definitely not giving up.
the fight is on

do you happen to know how many kids are on this list… i mean if it was just you and I, then it’d be the best list in the world haha. But of course, life never works that way.

xcyuen, are you an applicant for 11th grade?

yupp she is

xcyuen----haha im a male but anyways…yeah gr 11…

me and msu all on the waitinglist wud be awesome…just need 2 kids to go and choose watever other school they got into…

I’m sorry for the gender mix up. haha WAIT you’re not even competing with me because you’re male. Let’s say a male gives up his spot, I can’t get in because of dormitory issues.
GREAT that makes it worse >:l

for most top schools, the yield rate is around 60-70%, i think for hotchkiss last year was around 65, i would imagine more or less the same for milton…tho i m not sure becoz milton is kinda special becoz of the super high % day population…

A/E typically are higher… like the 70s…
