Yikes - why I am glad I am not famous!

No one should have their picture taken at the beach once they are over 40.

Ewww. Just put some clothing on! At least Simon Cowell and Sir Paul have the good sense to wear sensible trunks.

Steven Tyler shudder

I see far worse on the Jersey shore every weekend. Rob Stewart looks pretty good. Some of these guys need their stylists to introduce them to waxing…

Is Steven Tyler wearing nail polish??

I live near Steven Tyler and he is spotted often in the area. Looks pretty tough. I didn’t think that Rod Stewart looked bad considering his age. What is it about the body hair thing? Men go bald and it crops up all over their body in inappropriate places. A friend and i decided it’s “Follicular Alzheimers”. The hair loses it’s way and ends up on their back.

LOL- someone in the posts below the photos referred to the speedo-type suits as a “man-hammock”. Never heard that term before!

Several posted comments were hilarious

from VeryHappy:

Actually, this photo was part of Essie’s new campaign to promote their nail polish. Steven chose to paint half of each nail on his right hand with Jamaica Me Crazy. The caption for the photo was undecided, but the Essie marketing team was considering these popular shades:

Meet me at Sunset
Knockout Pout
Rock Star Skinny
Topless and Barefoot
Vermillionaire
Berry Naughty
Fear or Desire

And my fave,
Bikini so Teeny
:)

^^^Nice, Classof2015.

Steven Tyler also seems to lack all body hair.

I wonder what you all (and the general public) would have to say about me if you caught me in a bathing suit . . . .

veryhappy - feel free to head to Bradley Beach, NJ in whatever you want to wear. Trust me, you will blend in or there will be someone looking “better”.

I was expecting much worse from the comments, although I prefer board shorts to tiny Speedos. Cowell looks pretty good, IMHO. I’ve always liked men with chest hair, they seem more masculine to me. I never got the appeal of men who look like hairless boys. Guess it’s a good thing we all have different preferences.

I know…add a few pounds and they look like giant babies.

Can’t people just go to the beach in peace? Do they really have to have people assessing their appearance as if, instead of just trying to enjoy themselves, they are putting themselves up as centerfolds? I, for one, go to the beach to enjoy the beach, not to goggle at other people or invite goggling myself. If I am not pretty enough for you, too GD bad!

That said, I really think that most men look better in trunks

Is it really the norm now for men to remove chest hair? How about legs and arms?

I agree, worknprogress. I am so glad that no one is lying in wait to photograph me for the world to see, even fully clothed!

I agree with Consolation, and note that we’d all be rather annoyed to see these comments directed towards 40, 50, 60, 70 yo women at the beach.

Sir Paul still has that boyish charm in concert and moves nicely. I’d follow the long and winding road to his door, even though he’s my father’s age!

Consolation - that was actually my first thought. I am happily insignificant and pictures of my body in a bathing suit will most likely never hit the internet. The teeny-weeny suits on these guys, however, do invite comment! We have a dressing young thread on this forum that would happily advise these men on their swimming apparel!

On a more serious note - the reason the photos really hit me yesterday was that I was feeling so sorry for Mykala Maroni as her picture was going viral. She is just a kid, she is not a professional athlete, and she got caught in a moment when she was clearly trying to maintain her composure. These guys are old enough and successful enough to be fair game for a few “pot” shots.

for a 70yo guy, Sir Paul looks very good in a bathing suit and probably better than 95+% of the 70yo guys on the beach today.

The only one that really scares me is Steven Tyler. My neighbor’s family vacation house is near his in NH, so he has seen him in the gym before. Said it was ‘interesting’.
