Yoiks! No good deed goes ...

We’ve rescued a bunch of stray cats over the years. A little girl cat has been coming around for food and started coming inside and hanging out on the floor. Decided to flea/worm treat it.

Rabies vaccine. Tetanus. Bunch of immunoglobulin shots. IV antibiotics. Lying on hospital bed.

She bit me. Hard. Never happened before. Since I was already bitten, I fought it out and medicated her so I’m all scratched up too.

Bored out of my mind.

Cat bites are some of the most infectious. Our cat bit my husband - poor thing was dying and freaking out. He had to get to the er for iv antibiotics. You probably need to call a dr asap about it.

Yikes! Are you saying that you are in a hospital?!

Holy crud.

Oh no!!! :(

Lergnom, that’s awful!

You will be rewarded in heaven.

Wishing you a quick recovery. My dad spent a week in the ICU after volunteering to feed a neighbor’s cat while she was on vacation. I was bitten by a client’s cat and filled out an employee incident report with my moonlighting job. They laughed at me, but I told them that I needed to make sure I’d be covered if I came down with an infection.
Client’s info sheet now warns people about the dangerous cat…

So sorry this happened. Those shots can really hurt. How long will they keep you in hospital?

++++ you recover quickly!!! My nieces own cat just scratched her badly on the hand and it swelled up like a basketball. Long course of antib’s

Aaaarrrrrggggghhhhhhhh. Ouch!

Got wicked scratched up by a cat a few years ago. It was really painful. Long story. I had no idea how bad it could be though. I did wind up in the ER. So I am sooooooo sorry for you.

Also went through a series of rabies shots last year. Another long story. However, other than the time of going back to the ER for the shots it was not too painful. Expensive but alright.

So sorry for you and your scratched and bit up hands and arms.

Oh, I am so sorry. Glad you have an iPad or smart phone to fiddle with. I am a huge fan of MahJong when stuck.

And here’s to hoping your kindness toward neglected kittens also bounces back at you…soon.

That’s awful. How long do you have to stay? What happened to the cat?

Whatever you do, don’t start playing 2048.

Here’s hoping you have a smooth and boring recovery.

Fingers crossed that everything will be ok soon!

I was bit by one of the Ko Olina resident cats when I took a piece of fish out of the plastic bag to feed him - the cat tried to grab it and bit my hand. Since the skin was not punctured, and the cat had been a long time resident of the beachfront community (seen him there many times), I told Mr not to worry. Did not want to ruin our vacation! My adoptees and cats whom I catsat never got me, although some tried.

They just let me go but I’m under strict orders to return if there’s a change. I don’t mind shots. We had to negotiate extensively over the 3rd shot in the rabies series because I will be at my kid’s graduation that day, but they caved. At least I avoided MRI for tendon damage. The orthopedic guy said I’m ok. Had multiple misunderstandings because the cat type is “domestic longhair” even though it’s not a domestic house cat.

Our animals were very happy to see me. Doubt the other one will be around.

Yikes. What an ordeal. Glad to hear that there are no damage to the hand.
