<p>I am applying RD to Boston College, Brown, William & Mary, Columbia, Cornell, Northwestern, Princeton, Georgetown, UPenn, Vanderbilt and Yale…</p>

<p>I go to a well known Jesuit high school in Philadelphia and I commute from New Jersey every day.
GPA = 3.9 unweighted in mostly honors and AP classes (7 courses a semester)
SAT = 800 math, 700 reading, 720 writing
SAT II = 770 Math II, 680 US History</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
I play 7 instruments and take both jazz and classical lessons. I have been in multiple jazz bands and tutored my deaf peer in music theory class.</p>

<p>Rowing - on the top lightweight boat at a school with a well known rowing program (won nationals last year, 4th at Henley). I trained with a national team rower this summer. I have won medals on the local and national levels, and got the coach’s award last year.</p>

<p>Lacrosse - Freshman/JV/Tristate select team</p>

<p>Football - Frosh</p>

<p>Cross Country - JV</p>

<p>Service - Went on a service trip to the Mexico/New Mexico border, habitat for humanity, Safe Ride (a student established/run organization that drives students home when they feel that they are not in a good state to do it themselves), and various other things/races done with my crew team</p>

<p>Work - worked at a surf shop freshman year</p>

<p>I took a Neuroscience course this summer at Emory, and I’m taking AP Biology this year…</p>

<p>Honors/Awards:
Academic 1st honors
Honor Roll
National Honor Society
Gold medal - National Latin Exam
AP Scholar
Honors Jazz Band
(various sports medals and coach’s award)</p>

<p>I’m spending a lot of time on my essay (it’s about a friendship that fell apart but that I still think of fondly…)</p>

<p>My guidance counselor and 2 teacher recs will all be superb.

<p>Are you being recruited for rowing? If yes, I think you have a shot everywhere. If not, I think you have a lot of super reaches and I would try to balance the list with more matches/safeties. Your CR score will be an issue at most of these schools unfortunately.</p>

<p>I am not being recruited for rowing. I realize that most of these schools are reaches, but I’ve already been accepted to UChicago early action so I’m not applying to any safety or match schools… I’m really trying hard for Georgetown, UPenn, and Vanderbilt.</p>

<p>Reach for Princeton, Brown, Georgetown, COlumbia, and Yale. Target for the rest. Hard to say w/out rank. Sorry to put pressure on, but it’s gonna come down to essays and recs, and even then it’s gonna be hard. UNLESS you are a very very good rower.</p>

<p>You seem to be a nice kid, but I understand why everyone is being so tentative. Unforunately, no one is shoe-in. I am applying to many of the same schools you are and I was pretty confident until I posted on CC. </p>

<p>All I can say is good luck! If there’s any justice, we’ll end up in good schools!</p>

<p>Obviously with a lot of these schools it is really hard to tell whether or not you would get in. I would say that you should get into Vandy and BC, and W&M, Georgetown, and NW look at least ok. You certainly have a shot @ all the other schools but anything I’d say would be a shot in the dark. <p>Thanks everyone! I know most of them are reaches, but why not? I’m really hoping for Georgetown or UPenn. My Georgetown interview lasted like 2 hours and I go to a Jesuit highschool, so I think that might help a little bit.</p>

<p>Hey I got into chicago too, though I don’t know if I want to go with a kid from St. Josephs. Yuck. Anyways, Boston College (in), Brown (reach), William & Mary(in? I don’t know OOS), Columbia (reach), Cornell (reach), Northwestern (match), Princeton (reeeach), Georgetown (high match?), UPenn (reach), Vanderbilt (high match?) and Yale (reeeach). Also, this year we will win stotes.</p>

<p>Really great Stats, I admire them. You have very unique Services and it is great. This is something that might single you out from other students when applying to the Ivies. I think that you have what it takes to be competent for admissions in all your schools. Even your essay seems very unique.</p>
