"You are 'STILL' being considered..."

Ahem Russian because I think the language is beautiful and that no one here can understand it aka I can insult someone and they’ll never know what it means TEHEE :smiley: :smiley: :smiley: or maybe I wanna be a secret CIA/KGB double agent??? ;)

One thing I will emphasize, and that is BE SMART IN CHOOSING YOUR CLASSES!!!
Fact: Most students take more than 2 years to transfer. I know people who have been in CC for 4+ years. You need 60 units to transfer, so that means 15 units per semester.

The first semester, it’s ok to take a lighter load (12-13 units). After that, try to maintain 15 units per semester, and take summer classes to make up of the first semester.

Just like HS, some classes are UC-transferable, others aren’t. PLAN AHEAD. Know which colleges you want to transfer to, and find out what classes they require for that major. Only take classes that fulfill GE requirements or Major requirements.

Follow these tips, and you should be able to transfer within 2 years. Believe it or not, the average time spent at CCC is over 2.5 years.

Your the best lakerace, what is your major anyways?

wait did you do IGETC? o_o

Finee I guess I’ll take French again T_T to fulfill the lang requirement ooh or maybe German ;)

thanks for the info lakerace :slight_smile: it seems so complicated, and i’m not sure if i want to be at a community college for too long. i’m really just considering a cal state now. :/

Business Administration.

oh yeah, that’s another important point. A lot of people take tons of intro courses in CCC, in order to find out what major they want to do. It’s usually these people that spend 3-5 years in CC. My point is, you’ll transfer much faster if you already know your major.

@ ainstuff why are you taking all the useless languages? >.>

Andrew you should take French so you can smooth talk the Ladies in your Womens Studies class :wink: Feminism for the win!

Yeah, I finished IGETC.

And I’m pretty sure if you finished 2 years of lang in HS, that fulfills the IGETC requirement.

Well language is a requirement for UC transfer right?? O_O… and French, German, and Russian aren’t useless D:< They’re beautiful :3

@rainalove
As long as you have a clear plan for transfer, and you’re organized and disciplined, then CC is a breeze. : )

YES! thank you lakerace :smiley: Now I can take German or Russian for fun :D

@ ainstuff i am actually a sexiest, Now i really want to attend cc thanks :)

@ rainalove i thought you wanted to meet me at ucb?

Another tip: Take advantage of summer classes. They allow you to get some of the GE course out of the way (and trust me, there’s a ton of them) so that you can take some “fun” classes.

lol sexiest or sexist?

ooops sexist aahaha

@andrew
haha oh yeah ucb. ;)

but i just don’t know… i can’t get myself to attend a CC :(

if you guys are going to a cc, it should really be your goal to get into UCLA or berkeley tbh. It actually makes me upset how easy it is to get into a good UC from a community college. Many other freshman admits I know feel the same way.

summer classes start before I graduate hs this year T_T dang it and plus I want to spend this summer partying from finally leaving an awful place where teens and their teenage angsts roam aka High School :D

Well Andrew I guess that makes you my enemy with my feminist tendencies D:<
