You Decide!

Hi Everyone!

I want to get your take on which schools you’d think I would have a decent shot at getting into given my accomplishments. I won’t supply a full list of schools at which I am hoping to attend next fall, but I will say that Tufts University is my number one. I am planning on majoring in International Relations/Affairs, and maybe double majoring or minoring in economics or a foreign language.

Country: USA

Gender: Male

Race: White (of Greek and Irish descent)

GPA: 4.62 weighted, 3.81 unweighted (within the top 9% of my class)

Test scores (ACT): 31 composite, 36 writing

Academics: IB Full Diploma Candidate.

Junior year courses: IB Biology HL, IB Spanish SL, IB Math Studies SL, IB English HL, String Orchestra Honors, IB History HL, IB Philosophy HL

Senior year courses: IB Biology HL 2, IB Theory of Knowledge, AP Statistics, IB English HL 2, String Orchestra Honors, IB History HL 2, IB Philosophy HL 2

Athletics: Varsity Wrestling (9-10, 12)

Activities: Model United Nations (leadership: a sophomore teacher and conference chair)

Assistant Coach of a special needs baseball team for 9 years

Servant Leader on church youth ministry team

Founder and CEO of a small tech startup company

So, let me know what you think! I’d really appreciate it!

If you can raise your ACT score, you might want to check out Georgetown SFS as a reach.

Tufts is probably a reach or a low reach for admissions.

High matches/matches:
Lehigh, Tulane, NYU, U Rochester, Boston U, Northeastern, George Washington U, Miami (FL), SMU, Villanova, Marquette, Lafayette, Holy Cross, Skidmore, Whitman, U Richmond, St. Olaf, Dickinson, Trinity (CT), Connecticut College, Gettysburg, Occidental, and most likely your state flagship, among others.

There are a lot of outstanding schools in that group.

Safety: A lesser state school or less selective private school.

Will take it into consideration. Thank you!

If you are good at wrestling, give Lehigh a look.
