Test Scores:
SAT (1st try): M:690 CR:690 W:600 (does Stanford consider writing?)
Just took SATII US Hist, World hist, Math I.

I don’t see it happening with your current SAT scores. Make sure you retake it or take the ACT.

Yeah, I’m reading both Barrons and Kaplan’s SAT 2400 books right now for the October SAT. I’ve seen a lot of people rejected from Stanford and Princeton with far better SAT scores, so I was kind of shocked to find that Stanford’s 25th percentile for accepted students SAT scores was around 670 in all sections.

Honestly, I’ve never taken the ACT very seriously. Don’t ask why. I guess I really should take a practice test and see if I get a favorable score, though.

Definitely do that–from what I’ve seen, many students seem to do better on the ACT than they do on the SAT. So I would really look into that, 'cause you might not have to worry about the SAT if you can do much better on the ACT.

I would say your def. competitive…so try to raise that SAT score…but also think about the person you want to convey in your essays ( there are several)…you want your essays to resonate and elevate you above the other insanely smart people in the Stanford application pool

Thanks guys.
Yeah, I’m looking into how well I might be able to do on the ACT, and how those scores compare to my SAT scores.
Also, the essays will be interesting to write. I’m trying to put aside some time this summer (around mid summer) to draft all of them, and have a few very smart people that are well oriented with the college/admissions scene review them.
