When I do the “while I’m upstairs” 2nd errand and forget to do the original errand. Oh wait… I did that when young too ;).
The music in the stores makes me feel old. When I was growing up it was music from the 40’s and the like, or true Muzak (thankfully bankrupt) so you would hear vile arrangements of beatles music. But these days I hear the music (when I can hear it, given my hearing), and I realize it is music from my era or even later, it does make me feel old. What makes it worse is when you see people with kids, something comes on that was a big hit, and the kid wrinkles their nose and says “who is that? You guys listened to that?”
In some ways it makes me glad my son was the classical music kid, he would say that about anything done after about 1900 lol
OMG, Muzak! When I first got out of pharmacy school, I worked in a chain drug store. The Muzak was on a loop. And there was a Christmas loop. And eventually I would realize I WAS HUMMING ALONG and worse knew what song came next!!!
Arghhhhhhh! One of many, many reasons I was so grateful to get out of retail. LOL.
lol I have told the story of being in the car with daughter and a high school friend discuss new music they listen to, realizing after a while that they are talking about Aqualung by Jethro Tull!
S2 has an ipod (remember those?) with gazillion songs on it that he always listens to in the car. They’re songs from my era. I’m flattered!!
