You tell me please...

musicamusica, yup by hubby not commenting is speaking volumes thanks! A light just went off for me…Her friendship with this girl is important and I will respect that.

I agree with you all the Ucsd Ucla dad we should have never got a $400 phone to replace the much cheaper version…I respect your opinions and and am so glad I posted here for all the helpful advice…By the way Ucsd Ucla dad do you have 2 kids attending those schools if so, do you know anything about the track program at those schools? Thanks everyone!!!

One reason it cost ya so much is that you replaced her phone with something more expensive. Also, once you observed the care of the phone, why risk a more expensive model or also she is kinda being rewarded.

My girls have the most basic cell phones (even though lots of their friends at college have IPhones and Blackberries, etc.). I forget what their phones cost…maybe $100? But let me suggest something to you. Both my girls now have cell phone insurance. They have had a lot of problems with the phones breaking and the cell insurance is coming in handy. We learned the hard way when one had to be replaced and then got the insurance. They are both in college. Accidents happen but also these things break.

Even if you don’t think well of the girl’s parents, why let that affect your D’s friendship with her gf? Just NOT worth it. And your D would be mad at you in the end too.

I would also talk to her about how expensive her new phone is and you expect her to not lend it to others and to take special care. Still, get that phone insurance!

calmom, last year, when my D was in Brazil, her camera was stolen (that is her story). We had gotten it for her for HS graduation 1 1/2 years prior. No way could I replace it. So, the replacement had to be her holiday present (she would have gotten something else otherwise).
