YOU tell me...

I’ve grown up in the United States my whole life…but the part of my life that counts…i lived in houston…texas…heres where the funny part comes in though…3 weeks into my freshman year, i moved to Bombay, India.

So…here’s what i have…starting junior year this year…

Background: Lots of international exposure…lived in the u.s…now india…can interact with a wiiide variety of people (trust me haha)

GPA: 3…ish…
SAT (predicted) 1800-1900…but will defnetly rise…

Extra curriculurs…

-Student Council
-Basketball Team (recieved an all star award as a freshman at an international tournament known as SAISA…where american schools from india, pakistan, bangladesh, sri lanka, n nepal all come to play)
-THIMUN (Model United Nations) participant…largest student conference in the wrold
-NHS Member
-Directed a number of plays at our school
-Acted in a number of plays at our school
-worked with and raised quite a bit of money for an ngo known as the SPCA
-Prom committee
-Dress code committee
-introduced THIMUN to an audience of 4th graders for early exposure
-Student Technology Crew

Sooo…average-ish gpa…pretty high SAT’s…lots of international exposure…go to the american school in bombay…took IB biology in 10th grade when the actual IB course starts in 11th grade…got a B in it…

looking at:

Rice
Northwestern
Duke
University of Texas
USC
University of Chicago
UCal
UPenn
University of Miami

how am i lookin?

shwetabh:

UCB/UCLA: Reach (out of state)

do you believe in a dress code?

^no…we decided on not having uniforms…but a set dress code…

no more responses?..

“Sooo…average-ish gpa…pretty high SAT’s”

3.0 GPA (i’m assuming unweighted) - this will hurt a lot.
1800-1900 SAT - that is NOT ‘pretty high’ - perhaps considered average?

those stats are definitely NOT typical of UPenn, Duke, Northwestern, Rice, and UChicago

you definitely need straight A’s from now on and raise that SAT as much as you can, anyone will tell you that.

your college list is perhaps 75% reaches, in my opinion. you need more safeties/matches.

Rice - big reach
Northwestern - big reach
Duke - huge reach
University of Texas - ?
USC - reach
University of Chicago - ?
UCal - big reach
UPenn - huge reach
University of Miami - ?

big reach = 1 % chance
huge reach = 0.1 % chance

U Miami - lesser reach.

Pardon my ignorance, but don’t you have to specify a location for UT? Or is there one that’s just UT?

^^no you’re right…there are i think 2 or 3…but i want to go to the main one…

University of Texas (Austin)
