HONORS:

 • 2nd-place in national EWI Scholarship competition (won $11,000)

WORK EXPERIENCE:

 • Employed in a locally-owned pharmacy for about 5 months now, and intend on working until I leave for college. Averages about 10hrs per week.

INTANGIBLES:

 • My (junior) counselor loved all of my Stanford essays (compared to the essay that did so well nationally in the EWI competition).
 • The counselor recommendation, therefore, was as good as possible (my senior counselor also knows me well; I’ve been her office aid for two years).
 • One of my teacher recs came from Model UN advisor/history teacher and had excellent specifics instead of just general praise, which I think helps.
 • Other teacher rec was glowing but general.

you’ve got as good a shot as any…i play trumpet also…the only thing i don’t see is sports but obviously you’ve kept very busy and done impressive things…also ec’s are somewhat common (MUN, band, student gov etc) but these are very picky observations and overall i think your chances are extremely strong

Stop posting stupid threads like these man. Go to the “my chances” board.

God, seriously. Find some other things to do.

diamont- i think people just want to be praised for their achievements, or have people make them feel better about their chances. because seriously, what can a bunch of high school students actually tell you about what adcoms want?

great candidate. a shoo-in. good luck pal.

this dude knows he has a good chance, but seriously dude how do you think 17 year olds are going to predict your chances.

C’mon now, go outside and play some basketball or do something you’re passionate about.

WOW

i think people just want a reassurance…hope even if it is false hope…getting into the college you want to is a big deal…and the waiting is the worst part

chances threads actually **** me off and make me think less of the people who post them

unlike redcube2, chances don’t **** me off, but yeah, we aren’t admissions officers and we don’t really have any idea.

that said, based on my meager knowledge of the admissions process, if you made me guess, i’d say you have a very good chance. i got in EA with far fewer awards, although i might’ve had a bit more in terms leadership positions, but that’s really bc i go to an extremely small school and they probably took that into account. 1/264 is certainly an impressive ranking either way.

good luck!

you’re in. end of story

you’re in. if you don’t, i will cry.

**** .

That ******* ***** ***** ********* made of **** and you ***** it ** your ******

sorry; I don’t speak star…

I think you have a great chance!
