I’ve pretty much given up and I’m a senior so I was trying to figure out if I could still enter next year as an 18 yr old but I think I’ll miss it by a day? My birthday is December 1 and I’ll be 18 all of 2021 but that day I’ll be 19. Does anybody know if I can still enter at 18 or do I have to be 18 on Dec 1?
Saw another classical voice finalist on FB - this one is a tenor (posted overnight).
The really weird thing about this is that I will be still be 18 by December 1 2022… when I’m a sophomore in college. If anything I’ll apply next year again

someone just got finalist for photography on twitter. i guess there’s still hope…?
Hate to be a downer, but the same photography finalist posted the day before (Nov. 20) that she had serious news to announce either that day, or the next (today), that “Black youth are repping”. Consider that and the professionalism of her post (unique graphic), it’s very possible she got the call yesterday about YoungArts, not today. But hey, just speculation!
Three on Friday is not bad! Better than nothing on Thursday.
It seems YoungArts has halted all calling during the weekend; their Twitter has been quiet since Friday at 5:04 PM (Eastern Timezone, their Timezone) as of Saturday 7:05 PM (also EST). Now the hours of operation on the YoungArts website lists “Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5:30 PM Eastern Time”, and so far (at least the recent tweets about Finalist notifications I’ve read), all of their tweets fall within this timespan and dates. Though there have been cases of Finalists posting their wins after 5:30, let’s say those outliers are special cases, Finalists delayed in posting their wins to social medias for… personal reasons. YoungArts could be doing overtime to compensate for their workload, but currently I doubt that applies to the weekend. So I wouldn’t expect any calls at all this weekend, but despair not! They haven’t called the Finalist process complete, and since their last update (5:04 PM EST) was at their last possible operating hours (following their work schedule), there’s still hope. YoungArts wants this finished and tied up as well, I’m sure that poor social media overseer wouldn’t waste any time in ending prolonged anxieties. In conclusion, let’s relax this weekend (or remainder of it). We worked hard, we gave it our best, let’s take a breath before next Monday!
But hey, just speculation!

edit: nvm I think I just wait for the official list to be up, because I think only finalists get calls?
only finalist are called, but sometime in this next week or so the other winner should be notified by email… probably by next friday?
