My D is applying to two different disciplines. Can we send everything in one package or do we need to mail two separate packages?

I’m pretty sure they have to be in separate packages and the bar code has to be on the outside of each. She will have a different bar code for each discipline.

I found the answer. Yes, two separate envelopes with bar code on outside.

Are we really supposed to cut out the bar code and tape it to the actual dvd? Won’t that make it un-playable?

I’m going to experiment with another disc, but I just thought I’d ask here.

Most people have reported just writing the YoungArts ID# on the DVD with a Sharpie. Someone mentioned calling YA to ask and were told that was fine.

I printed the bar codes sheet on sticker paper and used them as labels for everything.

I called and they said to write the # with a sharpie.

Thanks! I had written it with a sharpie and then looked at the photo on the website that said “your packet should look like this” and it showed the barcode on the disc. So, I experimented with another disc and it played just fine . . . so I taped it on. Hope it continues to work.

We taped D’s barcodes on her disc last year, and they were able to play it just fine, so apparently either way works.

Good luck to everyone!!

Does anyone know when/how students will be notified of the 2011 YoungArts winners? I do not see it mentioned on the website.

Last year D got a phone call just before Thanksgiving. Fingers crossed that you get a happy call this year!!
