Your #1 Choice and Why?

What’s your first choice university and why?

Definitely stanford. It’s the caliber of an ivy, has a good location, entrepreneurial spirit, diverse people, happy students

@agraves an ivy is a plant…
<a href=“Hedera - Wikipedia”>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedera</a></p>

@Lacoste‌ To clarify I meant Ivy League (as in Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, UPENN).

Stanford all day erryday.

I’m not applying because I have pretty much no chance of getting in.

@agraves‌ <a href=“Ivy League - Wikipedia”>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivy_League</a> : the first sentence
“The Ivy League is a collegiate athletic conference comprising sports teams from eight private institutions of higher education in the Northeastern United States.”

@Lacoste‌ I know what the Ivy League is. I consider them to be a small portion of the best universities and was just saying that Stanford offers some of their qualities and more.

@SnickersU Apply!!! If everyone had that attitude there’d be no applications. Even if you don’t get in at least you’ll won’t ever regret not applying. believe in yourself :P

Stanford. It’s been my dream school since I was eight–it has stellar programs in practically everything, it’s easy to switch majors there, it’s close to home, the campus is gorgeous, the professors are amazing… I just love everything about it. But unless I do something truly amazing, I have no chance xD (I’m still going to apply REA senior year, but I’ll assume the worst until I get a result. My academics are a bit below their par.)

University of Texas, awesome city and a great school

Stanford 100%!!! I mean why is it not an IVY League school, am I right? Its beautiful, the weather is splendid, and the academics are top notch. Also, I’d bring Stanford into Quidditch World Cup glory :smiley: :wink: =D>

@emenya Quidditch! The one sport whose matches I’d attend xD I’m not very good at it, however–I took a class at Stanford Splash once, and I was horrible (especially at being the Snitch. let’s just say I ran very, very far, but into a corner).

@topaz1116 Lol not horrible, a snitch running very far: I do not want to chase…but into a corner is another thing altogether :slight_smile: And you got to take a class…at Stanford!!! Please, just let me be you

@emenya Splash is this program they do twice a year; if you live nearby Stanford, you should definitely do it. It’s one weekend (food provided) of classes from 10-6 each day on every subject you could imagine for $40. The classes are usually taught by Stanford students. It’s super fun; I’ve gone three times (I didn’t get to go this spring, though, because I had a dance competition). The website is: www.stanfordesp.org

@topaz1116 that is really cool, the only problem is I live in Texas :frowning: But the courses that they have look amazing. What are all the ones you’ve done? There are soo many!

Princeton Law School.

/s

^^that’s odd…I have never heard of Princeton Law School or met anyone who has graduated from that non-existent school.

My first choice is Princeton because it’s well-respected in my major of engineering, and yet will also give me a well-rounded experience because not everyone there is a STEM major, like at most tech schools. Also, I prefer the weather in the Northeast and I’d rather not move to the other side of the country. Stanford is also a nice place, but no one from my school has gotten in there in a while despite several Ivies per year, so I don’t want to get my hopes up.

Princeton University. I’m only an hour away and it’s a school everyone here in New Jersey dreams of going to. Princeton’s campus is just STUNNING. World renowned for Engineering and Math. Great financial aid. IMO, best among all Ivy Leagues. SOOOO many things to do. An hour away from my house, NYC, and Philly. Honestly, the MAIN reason I want to go to Princeton so badly is because Silicon Valley recruits lots of Software Engineers from Princeton and Berkeley. My dream is to find a job in Silicon Valley because of the location and wage (highest in nation). It also allows you to start your own business after you become adroit and experienced. Problem is, so many people apply there, so Silicon Valley only wants applicants from students who have went to prestigious universities such as Princeton, CMU, or Berkeley. :slight_smile:

@gravitas2 hence the sarcasm tag ;)
