Your Favorite "away from the office" Place To Work

I love a day when I can sit somewhere other than my desk at work to work! Sometimes find myself more productive!

This morning I’m parked at a Panera working on a grant proposal (ok, and also checking CC…) - not a bad spot. I have a favorite coffee shop that is my favorite business to land in to work. But my most favorite spot is our main library branch that is large, airy, beautiful and nicely quiet but not still.

Have a favorite place other than your typical desk spot to pound out some work???

The dining room table since it’s big enough to spread the grading around. Can’t imagine being able to focus at Panera or a coffee shop. Love the campus library, but it’s too much of a PITA to go there just to grade papers or prep.

Haha, being productive includes hanging out on CC?

I’d be a lot more productive if I weren’t addicted to this site. :D

My mind always needs very short mental breaks - especially when working on a writing document - seriously! Just a moment or two to look away from the text and then go back.

I think I like the white noise of the coffee shop and try to find a spot to park where I’m sort of out of the way.

I also love my local library branch. I usually head there when I need a “writing day”. Free wifi, quiet but with the right amount of ambient activity that doesn’t distract me (the way my office pals do) and I can get up and browse the stacks when I need to stretch.
Panera is awesome, but I end up feeling too “relaxed” there and take too long to enjoy my bagel and coffee, start reading CC instead of accomplishing tasks.

I like to use my dining room table as my “home office”, too! Cc provides a great mental break when I get tired of staring at structures for too long.

I like the study carrels either at the library or at the college.
If it is something that does not require me to have lots of books and papers, I will go to a coffee shop, but they generally have tiny tables.
My local coffee shop also changed hands about a year ago, and now they are too pretentious for words.
( they won’t serve iced coffee or with flavorings for example)
:frowning:
A real shame, as it is only a few blocks away & the previous place was a real asset to the neighborhood.

The key is to get away from home, as I will easily find something to procrastinate with there.

I also love going to our local saltwater beach, where I met my H, and sit in the car and work.

In the warm weather, my front porch is a great place to get stuff done.
