Your favorite Rom-com?

I was watching Sleepless in Seattle the other night and it dawned on me they just don’t make these anymore. I loved all the rom-coms from the 80’s and 90’s. What is your favorite? Just one now…I know it’s hard to choose.

It’s really hard to choose! But I’ll choose…Notting Hill, as much for the funny supporting cast as the two main actors.

That was hard…as I love them all!

When Harry Met Sally.

Le Fabuleux Destin D’Amelie Poulain.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

You’re killing me. So hard to choose only one. OK, then:

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Moonstruck

Can’t pick just one. In addition to several mentioned,

About A Boy
The Holiday
Silver Linings Playbook
Four Weddings and a Funeral
500 Days of Summer

Newer: The Big Sick was a good movie.

Hugh Grant must be the king of rom coms.

Same Time Next Year (1978) with Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn.

If we can name more than one, another movie from that time period I adore is Say Anything

You’ve Got Mail. My favorite was Sleepless in Seattle but lately I watch YGM any time it’s on tv- which is practically every week.

Also love:
Notting Hill
Love Actually- no wait THIS is actually my favorite!
50 First Dates
Sabrina

I can’t just choose one but two of my faves are: Love and Basketball, and The Best Man

The Holiday (the one with Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, and Jack Black)
ooohhh… and All I Want For Christmas (1991)

Sheesh, I must be in the holiday mood ;))

Edit: I obviously don’t follow directions well. :-S The Holiday is from 2006

Easy for me…50 First Dates.

@psychmomma Sabrina! Yes, that one, too! I loved the one with Hepburn & Bogart.

I’d have to say Annie Hall is my favorite with You’ve Got Mail a close second.

Love, Actually
Sleepless in Seattle
You’ve Got Mail
Friends with Benefits
Enough Said

If I can go to any time period it would probably be His Girl Friday.

For more recent stuff it would have to be one of the Hugh Grant ones - but how to choose? Maybe Notting Hill though I have to say I liked Music and Lyrics a lot more than the critics did.

I am also a secret fan of Music and Lyrics. Pop hip, anyone?

A Room with a View
The Match Maker
A Little Romance
Leap Year
Bridget Jones’ Diary
