I got a great deal yesterday on a Hyatt vacation rental. The hotel is going for $505/night, but is sold out for some of the nights I needed. I found a timeshare villa rental at the same resort for $175 per night on craigslist. The villas are much nicer than the hotel rooms. I paid using Paypal, so hope I’m protected.

Went to our local Elder Beerman today - not someplace I usually go but had an hour to burn in the neighborhood…picked up two great buys in the shoe department.

A pair of brown suede ankle boots - super comfy and perfect heel height - originally $90 for $20 after discounts and coupons!

And, a pair of Privo casual shoes that I WANTED last spring-summer but could not justify the price. They had one pair left - size 9! My size! - originally $70 for $20! Can’t wait for spring to be able to wear them!

LOL abasket! I was unfamiliar with that store so my first thought when I read that line was… well, you can imagine!! I was figuring you had a few brewskies with some old guy!! LOL!!! Sorry, but I am still chuckling at my ignorance!!

I pulled up the store website and apparently there are also online sales of the Privo shoes, if you still need any…

Elder Beerman is part of the BonTon chain, but yes, it’s a funny name. When my brother and father were in town visiting, my brother pointed out the sign to my father, saying, “Look. They named a store after you.” My dad is still pretty quick and spotted a store right across the street and responded, “Well there’s a store named after you…Grease Monkey”. Grease Monkey is an oil change shop.

I just called a friend in upstate NY about the HFarms deal. She’s so happy–it’s iced in around there and she has loved ones in the service. She’s thinking about ordering a bunch of these for herself & loved ones. Thanks!

I sent the hickory farms stuff to my sister and my BIL last year and this year. They both liked it. I got the smoked turkey for us (my husband could not believe I got a turkey on-line) and it was very tasty. I also got the nuts. The tins are smaller then you would think so glad I got them at 75% off.

Last week I was passing a nearby thrift store and noticed a 50% off sign on the door. They were swamped with winter clothes and desperately needed to make space. I’ve been looking for a reasonably priced wool coat for the past couple years, and was very happy to find a gently used Liz Claiborne pea coat. Also bought a microfiber trench for S1 for $10, and a like-new ladies Burberry trench for $15! I’m not usually a label shopper, but have to admit the Burberry coat really is beautifully made. D’s were not neglected either - DKNY winter boots (with sensible heels) for D1 for $2.50, and a pair of ski overalls/snowpants for D2 for $1. Will come in handy today!

Popcorn Factory has cute Valentine’s packages and a $10 off coupon (VAL10) good until 2/28. I love this monkey tin that I ordered for D, don’t think I’ve ever seen heart shaped pretzels before!

Goodwill purchases this week…a book for me, two RL Polo (short sleeve knit w/collar) shirts for S2 and my biggest find, a really nice men’s heavy fleece (with wind blocker soft shell lining) Patagonia jacket. It will fit either of my S’s so we’ll see who wants it the most.
Got all of the above items for $10.03.
