I went through the process just long enough to see the grand total. Didn’t complete an order yet. But I think the date for delivery would have either been April 24th or 26th,something around that time frame.
What a coincidence. I went to my front door a couple of minutes ago and the engraved Jefferson cup I ordered from M.Lahart was on my front porch. Came via FedEx for $9.95. The box says the weight altogether for box and gift is 1 lb-for $9.95 shipping! The Omaha Steaks shipping is much more involved and many more pounds.
I agree, esobay, they do send out alot of emails but I just quickly delete most. They do have some good deals sometimes if you know what to look for-like the free shipping sometimes and great combo deals on occasion.

The steaks sound great, but since this is the last week of classes and his roommates will be leaving soon, I think I’ll wait for the next great deal next semester. Will you keep us posted, sevmom?

Thanks!

Sure, jym, it sounds like enough of us get these emails that somebody’s bound to see a good deal down the line! I’m still waiting to the see the one again that I got a few months ago. About $200 worth of stuff for about $50. Steaks, fish, potatoes, burgers, hot dogs,etc-lasted for a really long time.

sevmom - $5.83 per steak - but the steaks are only 5 ounces - not sure if that includes the weight of the bacon wrapped around it. So we’re talking around $18.66 per pound - for TOP SIRLOIN.

MomCat2, Some of you just really seem to be overthinking this. Can you go into a store and buy cheaper steaks somewhere. Of course. Can you go into a store somewhere and get flowers and cookies and things like that somewhere cheaper than you can find at online retailers-save some money and hand deliver some flowers, chocolates, cookies, etc. cheaper. Of course you can. For people that want to send a nice gift for a reasonable price, have things packed nicely with oftentimes a free gift message, sometimes it is just nice to have good reliable options-you know things are going to be packed and delivered properly by an established business that stands by its products. Geez, I think I’m going to think twice about posting in this thread from now on.

memphismom, I hit up my local TJ’s for the third time this week and found the exact bottle I wanted for $19.99 vs $279 at Pottery Barn. Thanks for the encouragement.

you are sweet to post! I was in a Marshall’s last weekend in Boston - and ohhh and ahhh’d over the vastness of the selection vs. here. But I didn’t see any of the bottles you wanted. The stores really vary.

We get a big annual gift box of Omaha Steaks from a business associate. The truth is, their steaks have been downright bad the last couple of years. I know it’s an expensive package, so I always feel disappointed on behalf of the sender. I’m trying to be fair since we usually order premium steak in a restaurant, and rarely cook steak at home, but it really has been that bad.

I have heard others say the’ve had good experiences with the company. I 'm a pretty good cook (if I say so) so I don’t believe it’s in the prep. Maybe they are just inconsistent. For 19.99 for four steaks, you probably don’t have much to lose, but just be careful if they are meant as a gift for someone else. Check the online reviews - extremely hot and cold there as well.

My local TJ Maxx and Marshalls seem to have a lot of women’s clothing this week from Talbots. i found pants, reduced from $80 to $15. They also had Talbot shirts and jackets.

So happy! I was able to find flights I wanted for S at decent times, but they were on 3 separate airlines. I checked several websites & was finally able to get them on Expedia.com for NO added fee. Best of all, when I checked on the flights a few hours later, the fare had dropped by $24. I called them back & they gave me a refund to my CC of the price drop as well as $50 into a new Expedia account they set up for me. I should receive both within the next 7-10 business days. It took a while to take the representative through the steps to get the same lower fare I had been able to find but once she was able to get it, she was very helpful.

I generally book directly with airlines, but in this case, it saved me a LOT of money to be able to have these 3 different airlines instead of just one. I’m hoping nothing happens to S’s flights, or he will have to have Expedia try to help him out instead of the airlines.

Thanks, Expedia! Hope that this is a positive experience so I can use them for future travel needs! The key is you have to call within 24 hours to let them know if you have found a lower price & where they can find & book it to use their price guarantee. I had to walk the agent through getting the lower price as she couldn’t navigate to get it with the same itinerary I booked w/o my help.

This might not be considered a “good deal” but it certainly was a “better deal”. I’ve been looking to book a trip to see my family in June…airfare. The ticket prices has been $346 for a long time…and I’ve checked on Tuesdays and at midnight etc. I finally decided I needed to book today while there were still seats (small plane). Well…much to my delight…TODAY the ticket was $277…so of course I booked it immediately. Same flight times…just a lot cheaper!

Wow, that’s a pretty amazing deal in my book! Heck, I was proud when I found the ticket I bought drop by $24 a few hours after I bought it with same flights, airlines, etc. Yours dropped like 20%!

Thumper, I recently started shopping for flights for Thanksgiving break for my son. The plane RT fare has increased over $100 from the cost last year. I can currently cut that if he flew in and out of a less convenient airport, but I am still paying more than I did last year. I am not going to purchase and just keep checking. Thumper, after shopping for airfare and seeing the increases, it looks like you found a very good deal right now!

FYI: Jet Blue is having a one-day sale of $9 tix between Boston and Newark.

Wow!!! What a deal, worrywart!

Great deal, worrywart! Thanks for posting. Too bad that I really can’t make use of it.

Nor can I but it seemed worth sharing.

That is an amazing deal. Nothing near that in my neck of the woods. Oh well, prices are climbing to/from HI while D has no idea when she wants to come home this summer & when she wants to return to LA. ARGH! I hate paying change fees, so will wait for her to figure it out before booking & having to switch–been there, done that.

So far, we’ve always had her & S remain in LA for Thanksgiving, with no complaints, so have not even considered booking anything for her. Hmmm, maybe we should all descend on S for Thanksgiving–that might be fun.

HImom, Does SWA not work? No change fees, and DING for watching for deals. Or do they no longer fly to HI?
