Well, just got back from a trip. Paid only $141 for hotel 1.5 blocks from convention center with free wifi in our room. Also paid less than $30 for use of a car to get us from airport & drive around to appointments & get us to our hotel before returning (didn’t need it while staying downtown & didn’t want to pay parking fees). Paid only $71/night at Residence Inn IAD with free shuttle to/from IAD, free hot buffet breakfast every day & free hot dinner M-Th with king-size bed & pullout sofa bed. Had car there for under $50 for Th thru M rental! All in all, we had a great trip & saved a LOT of $$$ by shopping around for our car & hotel rentals.

H happily bought new REI jacket that was on clearance, so 1/3 off; think it was $180 instead of $270 or something. Anyway, he likes it much better than his 10+ year old GAP relic that he graciously donated to Salvation Army so we didn’t have to tote it back to HI.

jym, I have purchased quite a few necklaces from them, most have been beaded. I have been satisfied with most, although I like more than others. This one is fine for $9 because I think it will look okay with a black top. I will keep it for what I paid for it, but I don’t think it would be “a find” for $30, let alone $60. I bought this one, because of price and the fact that it was not yet another beaded looking necklace.

Yea, we were happy to rent the car for under $30 because it was cheaper than SuperShuttle or any other means of doing all we planned to do & more convenient. We were even able to celebrate our 25th anniversary & receive a free dessert at the Brown Palace, where we had a very nice dinner upon settling in Denver. It’s always nice to travel & not break the bank. Were successfully able to combine business and pleasure so that much of our trip was subsidized.

I’ve mostly stopped buying jewelry, especially things I can’t touch before I purchase as it’s so hard to gauge whether it’s something I REALLY want to add to my burgeoning collection or should just give a pass to. I explained to H that I have only one neck two wrists and mostly just wear the wedding ring & engagement ring. Don’t really want so much resting in the safety deposit box gathering dust. At the trade/jewelry show in town, you can see a lot of nice things for low prices.

If one has the time or the patience, there are some incredible deals to be found out there. We are going to a wedding in MD in a few weeks. Flying in/out of BWI- arriving on a Fri early afternoon, leavig on a Monday morning. So the rental is considered 3 weekend days. The total estimated rate (and b/c my Dh travels a lot we will get an automatic 1 car size upgrade)… the trate, with taxes, airport fees, etc is… $66.13 :)

Yea, our AAA gave me free HERTZ Gold status, so we were given a mid-size car for our rental at IAD. I couldn’t believe the low price, even with the tolls (we managed to keep crossing back & forth through the toll road in our short stay there), it will still end up a very reasonable price. It was more convenient to have the unit afixed to the windshield & be able to go thru any lane at the toll road & I believe most of the cars had that unit to pay tolls. We will get an bill later for $2.50/day of our rental + the tolls added to our bill; maybe in about a month.

It sure does take some time to cull thru the deals & figure out which one works the best without making us contort too much. The nice shuttle driver for the rental car was able to drop us off at our LAX hotel instead of taking us to LAX & making us catch the free shuttle back to the hotel (we dropped the car off the night before since we had such an early morning flight & didn’t want to pay the overnight parking).

Rented a very nice Nissan Versa sedan from Dollar in San Diego - $52 for 3 days. We drove around the area, drove to LA and back and only had to fill the 10 gallon tank once! Very impressive gas mileage.

I generally end up with United or American, but sometimes Hawaiian. Depending on the destination, sometimes Alaska has some great deals as well, but I have rarely used them. I often check itasoftware.com as a guest to figure out good deals & then check the individual airline sites.

jgoteach, you thanked me twice, lol! Your welcome again. I hope that the recipient likes it. The deals were so good that I ended up going back onto their site to order two more things that day!

Got my second CWC order today. I ordered two of their handbags. They both lay flat for travel. I am very happy with these purchases! I ended up paying $10.49 for one, and $14for the other. They were well worth that price, and shipping was free!

My CWC order just arrived too. 7 tops and 1 skirt for about $80. The most expensive item was $14 and the cheapest was less than $5. D not here to look at them but everything looks good to me. She discovered a couple of weeks ago that she had way too much black and white so all of these - with the exception of the skirt - are bright colors.

My 2 tracking notices say that the items are at the post office but wond be delivered for a day or 2. With the holiday, that means Tuesday at the earliest :(

I got my CWC stuff yesterday. I didn’t fare so well, and will be returning most items, but I am keeping one pretty t-shirt and a pair of black flats. I have a store pretty close to me, so I don’t mind visiting and returning! One thing I don’t like about their clothes is that their sizes are inconsistent, but the reviews really help.

I think I am going to give up on on-line ordering. Only one of my 2 packages form Coldwater Creek arrived, even though they show that both were delivered. Didn’t happen. So, good news for a change, they still have the items in stock and will reship, and are sending via 3 day (since we are going out of town) but this is getting ridiculous. I’ve had a problem with almost all of my last 5 on line orders :(
