Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Bought a 3-pack of Greek olives at Costco for $12 today and a $85 wooden easel art set for grand nephew for his 2nd birthday. ;)

Thumper, do you not have Costco nearby? I would send you a pair - seriously!

Nearest Costco is about 45 minutes away
and we are not members because of that. Plus
we aren’t going to just join so I can try merino wool socks!! We have. BJs five minutes from our house.

What a nice offer abasket. I love those socks too. FYI, they are available online.

Thank you for the nice offer!

Thanks!! But I really need to feel, them before I buy
I really have issues with wool. I can tell by feeling the fabric if I’m going to be able to tolerate it
or not.

Thumper, I usually hate wool anything, but merino wool socks are great, and don’t feel at all like wool (to me anyway).

Haha psychomamma
did the same. Love the socks!

I think stockings this year will be full of psychmomma’s favorite things- so far Costco wool socks and a scrub daddy. Much more affordable than oprah’s favorite things.

Keep your eyes wide open - BF deals are already popping up on the web! I am laughing - Net a Porter’s site crashed shortly they announced their sale.

This thread is my yearly pre-Black Friday dive. This and one-click shopping on Amazon makes shopping fun. Thanks to the contributors.

I was inspired. I just bought some cashmere socks for my whole family from Amazon using my credit card points. So they were FREE.

Cashmere sounds fancier, but I got a few packs of the plebeian merino ones, and quite a few things such as Triplus fineliners and my favorite indulgence
a couple of Leuchtturm notebooks! I really love that Amazon thingie about “you already bought this on XX” as it makes it easy to remember. Now if it were that easy to remember where the gifts went.

Don’t know what people care about, but everything at Express is 50% off
J Crew has their sale going
lands End has 50% off fleece
Talbot’s sale starts at midnight tonight. 50% off 1 item and 40% off entire order.
Abercrombie has 50% off sweatshirts and sweaters, and entire store 40% off.

If someone has determined what the best ONLINE deal is for a LED 40 inch TV in the 250 to 400 range, I’d be all ears. It’s for a rarely used bedroom, and there is no need for 4K and all the SmartTV bells. It will replace a 32 inch LED/LCD that still works. Hard to tell what Panasonic or Toshiba means in 2014!

@xiggi – have you looked at Deal News dot com? They sort deals by category and also have a one page summary of best consumer electronic Black Friday deals. I will only leave the house to visit with family & friends so any shopping has to be on line this weekend.

I truly know nothing about TVs, but I know that my husband will pay up to ensure there are enough HDMI inputs. I am not sure why he wanted four—Apple TV, Hulu, cable box, music? He connected a Surface Pro 3 to a TV in a hotel last weekend in order to use the TV screen as a computer monitor.

We were very late to the flat screen TV world as I hated to get rid of the custom cabinetry built 10+ years earlier.

@1214mom – even though I feel that J. Crew has really missed the mark this year, the sale prices finally dropped low enough that I ordered a few shirts last night. Nothing inspired though. J. Crew Factory is 50% off everything also, but they mark the prices back up when they offer 50% off. Free shipping at regular J. Crew today, no minimum, and the final sale warnings seemed to have disappeared.

I truly hope J. Crew shakes things up a bit for next year as they are my go-to place for day-to-day clothing and nothing appeals this year.

I’be done pretty well with J Crew so far. I ordered several swimsuits a couple of weeks ago when they had a “flash” sale for 40% off sale prices, plus a couple of cashmere sweaters. Their cashmere feels nicer than some other places. Today I was able to get a couple of things for my son that were gone quickly with the last sale. I’m making real progress towards Christmas.

Thanks CT1417!
