Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Glad to hear you are happy with Staples cards…mine will be ready tomorrow…

The DNA test at ancestry.com is on sale through tomorrow night for $79 plus shipping, usually $99. Not the gift for everyone, but for some it’s just right.

Did those of you who registered for Small Business Saturday take advantage of your three shops???

I used all three opportunities. One at our local bakery for my husband’s b-day cake. One at a local home decor “repurposed” shop - and they had the sweet “Shop Local” canvas bags they got for free from American Express that they passed out - really cute! And the last one at a local pub where we enjoyed a break from our “local” shopping. Such an awesome idea - thanks American Express!

I used them all in the same place. They rang up 3 transactions. They were doing it for everyone. I actually had legit reasons for 3 since I was shopping for others. We’ll see if it goes through. I did get 3 emails acknowledging the transactions…

Yea, we used them all at the same two restaurants to buy gift cards as stocking stuffers. I think they’ll be a great hit!

Used my two Amex cards all at one store…six separate transactions. Got the Bookclub presents done–and saved $60! Amex was very prompt in emailing acknowledgement of my purchases (6 emails)…now just waiting for credit to come through

I was with my mom and she got me Coach boots at Marshall’s for $150. They are listed for $298 at Macy’s and Dillard’s. They are leather up to about the ankle, then they are suede. They are faux shearling lined. I have NEVER EVER owned any shoe, handbag or dress (except wedding) that cost this much! (I’ve never been into the designer labels) They looked and felt the best on me. I have wide fee,t so boots are tough to buy, and I wear athletic shoes 90% of the time, so most boots feel uncomfortable. I don’t get them until Christmas though!

Can someone give me tips on how to treat them so they don’t get stained by any water we might encounter? Knowing me I will never wear them for fear of ruining them…Hopefully I will wear them and have them a long time.

I did not think to try them in the same places & have only gotten one email from my three transactions, will have to see if the other two worked. I did not have enough data to be checking them. I did try a couple of places which did not accept AMEX!

Didn’t receive the Amex express email so checked with their online community and found this:

Re: Small Biz Saturday, No purchase confirmation email.

Hi there @cmn25!
Thank you for contacting us and thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have been experiencing some delayed communication issues. Per the Terms & Conditions, please allow up to 90 days, review the account for the credit. If the credit still has not reflected. Please let us know and we will be happy to investigate.

Njfootballmom, if you have a coach store nearby, ask them the best way to treat you new boots! Congrats on that great deal.

I treat my boots with a waterproof spray every year. I looked at mine and I have a suede and sheepskin water and stain repellent and I also have a suede cleaner. I’ll clean my boots and then spray them. My suede boots look nice and they are 5 years old. The leather part I would buy leather cleaner. There is water repellent spray for the leather also.

I usually go to my local shoe store and ask them what they recommend. Any nicer shoe store will have good employees who can help you. Nordstrrom or Walking Company, to give you examples.

I do treat my winter boots, I’m glad you asked because I forgot. Something on my list now :)

Costco has their women’s cashmere pullovers and open cardigans for sale at $27.97. Awfully low price for a very nice weight sweater. The 0.97 means they are to clear out.

For anyone who likes Clarks shoes, their website is 30% off today.

Today only, online, Gap 40% off sale price. Gap essential tees listed for $22.95 each, on sale for $10 each and with the code CYBER received an additional 40% off, each shirt was only $6. Free shipping if you spend $50. That’s a great deal

Bought a pair of Fisher Price roller skates on Amazon. Regular price $23.98. Cyber Monday price $15.59. When I checked out they applied my rewards points of $15.11 even though I had just used them on a previous order. Total paid: $0.48.

Bought four $100 gift cards for the local grocery store for $75 each.

I thought this thread would be hopping after cyber Monday! I have to say I felt overwhelmed with choices, but when I looked for specifics items I wanted they weren’t on sale so I only pulled the trigger on two things - a pair of boots for my husband (he has a birthday soon) and a pair for myself. Mine were the best deal from nomorerack - http://www.nomorerack.com/daily_deals/view/1248026?l=sidecartep&scid=scema316015203&src=email_recommendations&utm_medium=email&utm_source=transactional</a> I’m replacing an older pair that I have that our old dog liked to carry around in his mouth. Drool is not good for suede. I’ll use them for running around town, not for work.

^^It’s not hopping because there’s a whole “Cyber Monday” thread.
