Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

.

@xiggi – how nice of you to buy that for your sister, even if somewhat self-serving! I have no experience with refurbished electronics. Hope someone else weighs in.

@2CU0609 – W-S has perhaps eight or ten outlets now. One is an hour or so from where I live. I usually would never think to order something from another location, but I found part of a set in the CT store and then sourced the others. Twenty plus years ago there was a true W-S outlet over on West 10th in the low 20s in Manhattan. I am sure a luxury condo must stand in its place now, but that store had all W-S brands: Pottery Barn, Gardener’s Eden, Chambers (bedding), and Hold Everything (storage). Rickety staircase that would never pass building code inspection now, everything covered in a film of dust, but the true treasure hunt. The outlet stores now sell many ā€˜made for outlet’ items now.

That was the link they gave me and told me to share.

^^ Wouldn’t that be wonderful if the collective power and wisdom of THIS site ends up helping one of our long term members. Heck, I joined just to boost her rank!

You’re the best, xiggi!! I wonder what I get?!?! It told me to share the link with my ā€œfriendsā€ so I did!!!

I am in agreement with @jym626ā€Œ that Jet.com is an interesting startup. As you can see by the article that was mentioned in the previous post, the company is really a company produced to challenge Amazon with lower rates. They have crowd-funded large sums of money, and are poised to succeed in the market. Definitely worth checking out and keeping an eye on.

LOL mxl- now you are posting a link too? What was wrong with my link? https://jet.com/#/ji/cq08y It was my recommendation!! In fact, I shared it twice!!

OOh, I just looked more closely and discovered that if my dear cc friends use the link I provided to join, it helps get the early access to the site. Thank you oh dear cc buddies for the past 10 years!! Join through my link and then you can share your link with your friends and pay it forward. Thanks mxl for encouraging me to look at the link more closely to see how having friends join through that specific link helps.

Have a factory refurbished Artisan Kitchenaid mixer that’s over 10 years old. Never heard of insurance on it and I’ve never had a problem with it. I keep it on the counter and use it often for baking. (I don’t bother with the attachments, use the Cuisinart for chopping, etc.). Also bought a factory reconditioned Bose IPod dock a few years ago and it’s worked fine. One of the kids took it. I’m a big fan of factory reconditioned - both items looked brand new but were discounted.

xiggi-- One day sale!! http://www.edealinfo.com/d/00050946535647/KitchenAid-KSM75WH-Classic-Plus-4-1-2-Quart-Stand-Mixer

and this?? http://www.edealinfo.com/d/00050946535647/KitchenAid-KSM75WH-Classic-Plus-4-1-2-Quart-Stand-Mixer

And lots of possibilities on the slickdeals site http://slickdeals.net/newsearch.php?q=kitchen+aid+mixer&searcharea=deals&searchin=first

I’ve had a refurbished KA mixer for 15 years or so, still going strong. It’s used with some regularity, and gets a work out during the holiday season. In addition to the usual holiday baking, I use to make 20 lbs of shredded potatoes for Thanksgiving (+ cheddar cheese) and the same amount for Christmas. Love that Kitchen Aid!

I have a KA Mixer that is at least 20 years old that I bought used. It is awesome. I keep it on my counter, and use it at least twice a week for something. Heck…I can mix a meatloaf in it if I want to. It’s a great thing that I wish I had sooner.

Check EBay. Sometimes there are really good deals on new in box models there.

craigslist??

I love QM/Sonoma. They guarantee their products for life. Still, they often sell the best of a product. Right now, their KA mixers are 20% off. I bought a candy apple hand held mixer, and can’t decide to keep it. I checked all prices, at Amazon, BB&B, and w/s is same or better. There are cheaper models out there, but none in this color.

I bake 2x a week, and my old fashioned KA mixer holds up well. I will gladly give this as an engagement gift.

Xiggi, did you check bed, bath and beyond? With their 20% off coupon, I found them to be cheapest when I ordered my KA mixer some time ago.

Got a FREE book today as well as a free analysis from Schwab. The book is by Carrie Swhbab-Pomerantz, ā€œThe Charles Schwab Guide to FInances After 50.ā€ Also brought my offer from Merrill Edge for $600 for depositing $200K with them and asked Schwab to match it as a ā€œretention bonusā€ for NOT taking my money from my Schwab account and moving it to ME.

We really liked the new financial advisor lady. We made it clear that we’re interested in LOW EXPENSE RATIO index funds & ETFs (20 basis points or less). She will see what she can draft for us and get back to us with her suggestions. She was nice and seems smarter than the two prior people we worked with at Schwab. We like them because they have a bricks & mortar place in Honolulu.

She used to work for Fidelity but has migrated to Schwab because they have a Honolulu office. Fidelity used to but closed it. I think they would get a lot of business if they opened an office in our state, but I guess it’s a financial choice.

I got heart shaped soap from the body shop that smells like chocolate for my teenage daughter for valentines day.
4 for $10.

I know xiggi probably doesn’t want to deal with Sears…again. But seriously…they should be giving him the same deal.

Here is a Kitchen Aid mixer.
