Nordstrom has lots of things on sale to match prices at Bloomingdales. Nordstrom is much more convenient for me. 10 minutes away vs. well over an hour. I ordered a Kate Spade bag I like. There’s also another that wasn’t being matched, but Lord and Taylor said it will be on their friends and family event at the end of April. So I will keep the one, order the other at the end of April, and then return 1. I paid a ridiculous amount for a straw bag, but occasionally it’s ok to splurge. My husband will be happy to buy it for Mother’s Day.
H and wandered downtown this afternoon and walked through Nordys. (A huge mess - redoing many departments.).We saw the Longchamps bags on price match and then the debate began - color, neo or original, size. I have a cream w/small Longchamps logo neo bag that I bought in France last fall and the fabric feels so much nicer. Ordered a bilberry (purple) neo tote and a couple of accessory bags online. Rewards for too much OT for quarter close.
Friday’s buy was a medium size all-clad sauté pan with lid on clearance at Homegoods - $60.
Take a 1/2 loaf that you froze months ago, thaw, butter very lightly, broil until light golden. Put a slice of fresh
mozzarella, a slice of tomato, and fresh chopped basil, a dash of parmesian…broil. If you like
splash with a very very good balsamic as you eat.
Take left over bread and spread with a left over aoli and some sliced kalamata olives and whatever else you can think of and broil. Slighty fried scallions are a lovely topping.
And so on.
Do as individual portions or slice the left over loaf horizontally.
Ha Ha–H says that this question was meant to be figurative and I answered literally.
I love sour and hate sweet I would bet that figurative people are sweeter and literal folks are sour @-)
Update: Sears took the elliptical machine back and refunded me the price. It was just a hassle to return because it weighs 275 lbs. But the store refunded me and gave it to me for same price. Seems sears.com and sears are two separate entities. I did lose a 5% discount through UPromise, but Sears gave me free shipping (worth $100) and the item arrives on Wednesday. If I have a problem with it and need to return it, they will pick it up free of charge. Hopefully I will have a better experience this time. Thanks for all of your help!! I love this site. Oh, and bought a new Longchamp bag for my daughter from Nordstroms (with an additional 10% discount through UPromise)!
@oregon101 – have you tried layering roasted red peppers on top of mozzarella on top of tapenade-covered bread under the broiler? I am not an olive fan but the flavors come together amazingly.
Grated or shaved parmesan on top of pesto-covered bread under the broiler.
Great about the elliptical! It just takes so much emotional energy.
I saved $195 on a hotel room in NYC. I made a reservation 5 weeks ago and
decided late last night to look and see if their prices had changed. They had so I made another
booking for the same catagory of room and saved! And will cancel the first one, of course.
I ended up ordering 2 Longchamp totes: a blue for baby kiddo and a bilberry (looks purple enough) for big kiddo.
Athleta has free 2 day shipping on all orders - ends 4/1/15. Use code FREE2DAY.
For anyone who needs undies, hose, or swimwear, Bare Necessities’ FF 25% off sale is happening until 04-13.
NOW you tell me, BB. What did I buy D yesterday that is a full $10 cheaper at Bare Necessities today??
Ouch, SSeamom!! If you made your purchase within a certain # of days prior to a sale, some stores will honor sale prices. Can you give them a call and ask for a credit/refund? (Assuming you bought it from them).
I just ordered a couple of flesh-colored Tom convertible bras from them. Those bras never go on sale! Definitely not in the basic colors!
I got it locally and we’ll keep it because she REALLY needed a new one. But the model we found comes in about 11 colors so we’ll certainly order some more. We’re especially happy because it comes in several skin tones. Her Room has them at a lower price all the time. It’s hard to find bras with support and come in small enough band size but large enough cup size that don’t cost and arm and a leg-she is still growing!
RueLala’s “today’s fix” is an iPad mini (not returnable) for $295.
Can’t link to it because it is a password-login site, but it is grey and has all of this:
Well, we talk a lot about TJ Maxx on CC …right? And that some of us find great deals, others not so much.
I am convinced that you can fall into luck or not have luck based on the individual store.
Our town has 3 TJ Maxx stores. One, in a suburb we like to go to - it’s the newest - but we have noticed that it is just sparse in selection of all departments. It looks nice inside, but we don’t find as much. A second store is the oldest one in town - smaller, but more jammed packed with stuff - and also the most busy store. Today, we decided to visit the 3rd store - the most far from our house, not in a super desirable area, not too old but the mix of stores around it are not stellar.
Wow, the deals we found!!! The parking lot was nearly empty - we parked 3 spots from the store and were the farthest car out!
Our good buys!
- this cute Baggallini for $10: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Baggallini-Red-Strut-Clutch-Cross-Body-Bag-Shoulder-Waist-Wristlet-NWT-/321720337208?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ae806c338
Perfect for my trip this summer and walks to the French bakery for morning baguette!
- 2 Broyhill lamps - my favorite white and blue - marked down to $16! Similar to these: http://designlowdown.com/blue-and-white-lamps-at-hg/
- Athleta shorts! I know! I've never seen Athleta there! We actually didn't purchase any because they didn't have our sizes, but so surprised to see Athleta! Also saw Fresh Produce for the first time.
- Lily Pulitzer! D bought this adorable dress in lipstick pink - originally $198 for....$49 - not on the clearance rack! http://www.shoplifesabeach.com/product/karina-empire-waist-sundress/ She was thrilled!
It was great! Happy campers!
Great buys, my fussy daughter found a cute sundress last year and a lace “over top” shirt that makes her return again after some skepticism.
We have 3 within 10-20 minutes of each other too, a new one with Home Goods, 2 older ones, they all have a different flavor. One has more purses, another jewelery, all have great workout clothes and luggage.
Enjoy!
Agreed abasket. The stores in the nice suburbs are totally picked over. The ones in less affluent areas seem to have more stuff. And sometimes better prices on the same stuff.
We have two TJmaxx, and two Marshalls within a convenient drive. The one in the boondocks is where I find my best deals…and the best selections!
The Baggallini purses that are often posted here are cute, but they look tiny! Where/how do you find wallets that fit?
Bunsen, that looks to be the original iPad mini.
The Apple Store online lists the Wi-fi version at $149.
The newer models are running the A7 chip.
I bought one at Costco, a newer model, but I thought it was the newest, so I returned it.
You gotta really know what you are getting these days.
Ek, are you sure? That would be a super deal for a brand new one. I searched for the specific product number, and the prices that come up are upwards of $300. It may as well be an outgoing model, but I think Apple would not be so dumb to halve the price on its site - who would buy the newest one if one can get the last year’s one at 60% off?
Re: wallets and a Baggalini…you don’t need a wallet. There are all sorts of card holding pockets, places for IDs, zippered pockets for cash…etc. when I travel with my Baggalini, it is both my purse, and my wallet.
