Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

@gosmom, did it come in the mail, or via email, or what? Thanks

Well, 4 hours later, and my Target order never did go through. It wasn’t even for much, but it was very frustrating. My aunt wanted the new Adele CD, and Target has 3 songs you can’t get elsewhere. Oh well, hopefully I can order again in a few days.

@1214mom “you are receiving this pursuant to the notice that was mailed or emailed to you on or about December 31, 2014.” IIRC, I received this about three to six months ago

friend got $350 RT PDX -JFK nonstop for April

Went to CVS and purchased 6 medium-sized rice cookers @ $12.99 apiece and 4 toasters @ $12.99 apiece. Also bought a rice paddle for each of the rice pots and lightweight throws for all of 10 people. Gave all of it to 10 angel tree SRs at the mall. Also got 20% off entire purchase because I had previously gotten a flu shot at CVS. It made me feel great to have gifted 10 seniors fur under $150!

Beauty and personal care items are an extra 25% off at Target with promo code BEAUTY. (in store and online)

Gosmom-glad I could help. I think the only thing I had purchased at Restoration Hardware was a lamp from the outlet store. I had forgotten about the coupon till a friend mentioned it. I’m holding on to mine thinking I want to buy a duvet and maybe a side table. If not I should have my S list mine.

My Californian son needs a winter jacket that will take him through very cold and snowy winters while away at college. Just saw that Eddie Bauer extended their Cyber Monday sale of 40% off EVERYTHING plus free shipping and free shipping returns for today only. It made a huge difference and allowed me to buy him a jacket that will take him to -40 degrees, which I never would have been able to afford without that sale!

Thanks @gosmom. I have this vague recollection thatI may have received something. I probably figured since the store is no longer at the mall close to my house, I’d just toss it. Congrats on the sale.

Not sure this qualifies as a “good buy” but I was pleased. Just booked ski lodging for us and the extended gang (both s’s, #1 s’s wife/ other s’s girlfriend and some of their friends) with a cyber Monday sale and a military discount on top of that. Price is still not cheap but it was a great deal compared to others in the same location with the features/criteria we needed (# of BRs/ BA, bed configuration, location, pet free and smoke free, etc). There was a better deal that would have been perfect, but unfortunately it wasn’t available. This one is almost as good, and is a bit less expensive, so its all good. Its about 35-45% less than comparable offers. I never would have paid those other prices!

BTW, I usually book lodging myself through VRBO, air b&b, Flipkey or what have you, and have been doing it for years, but this agency was FABULOUS and specialize in ski resorts worldwide. If anyone wants their contact info, PM me.

Bought on Alaska last night for $600.
Checked back today and rebought at $500.

OOH! Just bought my airline tix for the trip on Southwest. $99 each way. Such a deal I splurged and bought the earlybird check in!

love the earlybird check in --so worth it!

We have horrid seats but bet that will change the next few weeks.
Hate the game though.
SO! grateful for the 24 hour cancellation.
Remember when if you made a mistake your paid dearly?!

Not really a good buy, but just wanted to give a shoutout to Target. I ordered a gift for S1 and DIL on Thanksgiving, and the price went down 10% on Sunday. I got nowhere talking to customer service to get the price adjustment, and the shipping tracking wasn’t updating either. I was so annoyed that I sent an email to Target’s CEO regarding my experience, and asking for a price adjustment, a gift card for my troubles, and assurances on what’s happening with shipping.

In less than 24 hours, I got a response with everything I asked for. Let’s see if the gift is actually delivered today, but I was pleased with the prompt response I got from corporate.

The gift, a Kitchenaid mixer, was actually a good buy.

Abercrombie - 40% off plus free shipping (ends after today FYI) got me two items on D’s wish list for half price.

Someone mentioned The Grommet on this thread and I want to thank you! I bought a neck support travel pillow ($29) that I think my husband will love as well as a razor blade sharpener ($20) that I know he’ll use.

Macy’s is having cashmere men’s sweater’s on sale today, minus 25% FRIENDS discount at checkout, and free shipping for purchases over $125! I bought 3 to see if S wants them as an upgrade to his cheap Express sweaters!

I also got a new Sapphire credit card for H with 50K bonus UR points if we spend $4K in 90 days. We will roll over the points we got from our two other credit cards onto this one, plus the bonus and have a tidy number of points we can use for travel or whatever else we need. We have been using points to get plane tickets for D and may use some for our tickets as well. Saved having to pay the $95 annual fee on the existing credit cards by cancelling after rolling the points over.

@jym626 - what exactly is earlybird checkin with SW? thx .

I believe you’re guaranteed to be in the first check-in group?? Well worth it~

It means their computer will check you in 24 hrs in advance for your boarding number instead of you having to be at your computer to do so. Their computer checks in before everyone else.
