TOMS has a surprise sale today! I’ve got 3 pairs in my “shopping bag” - need to narrow down my choices!

Nordstrom did that to me. I ordered a great sweater, and almost took back the one I had already purchased that was similar. At some point they sent me a note saying they couldn’t fulfill my order. I didn’t notice the note til I went searching through email trying to figure out why it was late. I’m glad I forgot the original when I was doing returns, but I would have rather had the one I ordered.
TOMS site is down - better get your basket to the checkout @abasket !
Ugh. I didn’t complete my transaction cause I was waiting a bit to see if any of my kids wanted a pair so I could get free shipping - now it’s stuck!
I made a note to myself to cancel my JET.com trial membership this week, it’s been 6 months. Went to the site to find that membership is free now. I only ordered one thing, once, but I guess I’ll keep it since it doesn’t cost anything.
Nordstrom got much, much better about tracking their inventory. I buy a lot of clearance stuff from them, and only once this year a glitch happened where the shoes I ordered were not available. I got a separate apology email from Nordstrom - that was a nice gesture, even though it was a form letter. Can’t say the same about Macy’s!
When I did the transaction online at Macys it gave me the option to pick it up from the store. I chose this option to saving on shipping costs. The odd thing is it is available online so I sent customer service an email to ship it to me and waive the shipping charges instead offering me a 20% off coupon. Haven’t heard anything from them yet.
@BunsenBurner, my experience with Nordstrom was after this last Christmas. But in general I LOVE their customer service. I started shopping there when I had kids (now 19 and 21) because they applied labels to their tags so you could get how much you paid for a return, and you could return forever. That was a big deal back then, because it wasn’t easy to get there.
Some of you may remember a year or so ago our dishwasher caught on fire? Well I suggested my husband take a picture of the model and serial number before they carted it away. I just got a class action suit notice today, and it looks like I will get $300, because I have that info., and we had to buy a new one. Not really a good buy today, but I had to share with someone
I think it is a great idea to take pictures of all appliances and furniture. You never know what can happen. There can be a flood or fire and when trying to put in an insurance claim those pictures would be helpful.
@raclut, good idea. Last time I did anything like that was when I got divorced many years ago. That can be a project for the next snow storm.
We also save the appliance booklets that we get when we buy the appliances (sometimes past the time we dispose of the appliances). We haven’t taken photos of our appliances, but most of them are pretty old and would not be worth repairing unless we have a VERY inexpensive repair (like we did for our clothes washer). We still have the booklets for our Maytag washer and dryer, which we bought before D was born decades back! Both of them still work great!
I’ve also heard it is a good idea to have photographs of expensive jewelry in case they get lost of stolen or just to keep track if you have too much. I think photographs of furniture and appliances is good when you live especially in a condo where there can be damage caused by the unit above.
I’m not sure how good of a deal this is. But today at target I needed a new set of sheets and I like their Fieldcrest luxury brand. The sheets were 89.99. They have a coupon for $25 off $100 in bedding or bath. So I added a bath towel for $12.99. So over $100 so $25 off. But on the cartwheel app both items were 10% off. Then I got my 5% off for my red card. Both items $64.30.
What is the cartwheel app?!
An app that lets you download target coupons and other promotions the store is having.
I have never used it but if I was shopping online I search retailmenot for coupons and ebates for cashback.
It’s an app on your smartphone that gives additional discounts at target.
Gotcha! I was actually on RetailMeNot today looking for Target coupons for a baby shower gift.
A $300 Kate Spade tote with zipper for $120. Not bad, Nordstrom.
I would like to go on a shopping spree with BB.
Either that or I need to download the BB app.
