Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

I rent cars using rentalcarmomma dot com promo codes which often beat my AAA rate. Sometimes I combine, it depends. I almost always rent from Hertz as they seem to have the best deals where I need them. I used to do the Enterprise $10/day (up to 300 mi/day) weekend thing but they discontinued that at my local office.

Nice bag, BB!

No Kate Spade bags on sale at my Nordstrom.
Williams Sonoma has some great deal on their leftover winter stuff.
I’ve taken to buying things at Lucky lately, and they have good sales. I feel like I’m probably twice as old as their target market, but I really like some of their shirts, and they had some jeans that fit me really wel at Christmas, for something like 30 bucks.

Went into a Banana Republic today. Extra 60% off already marked down merchandise. I got a sweater dress, long sleeve T shirt, tank and a poncho style sweater for a total of 61 dollars including tax.

That was me last year at BN…just happened to walk into our outlet and they had 50=70% off sale items and others. What a nice trip that was, sure you felt the same.

We had USAA towing for years and one time they called to tell us we had too many flat tire repairs (construction in the same parking lot as our office) and explained it is really designed thinking of people with true emergencies and they don’t like to see more than 4 claims a year (not sure if that is per car or per person or per family), but it sounds like AAA is the same.
USAA towing does work abroad, I know we used it in Canada and the person back in the 90s mentioned military abroad. I don’t know if their policies have changed since they opened up USAA to enlisted people, their service certainly has changed now that they are broadening their market.

Well, good news, I got a 21" rollerbag that DS#1 needed that was $199 plus tax a few days ago for $71 and change (tax included) today BUT, bad news, I had to deal with the (#@&%!)%&)$& incompetent Kohl’s people again. 2 hours and 3 phonecalls (2 were disconnected). Because their website has a wrong description of the bag, showing the wrong size for the color we wanted. AAAGGHHH. That’s another 2 hrs of my life I’ll never get back.

Bought these sandals at TJMaxx yesterday. $40. I heart them.

Emily- cute sandals.

I think this fits here.

I bought DH one ther a shirt for yoga at Target. Last week, the hem stitching came loose. Yesterday I returned it. All I wanted to do was exchange for a shirt with a hem!

But wait. Now the same shirt is half price…but oddly, my $12 shirt was $5.28 at half price. So…we left there with two shirts, and a package of play dough…and 25 cents in change!

Just got back from Kroger where I got 8 boxes of Jimmy Dean Fresh Delights Chicken Sausage Patties marked down 35% and I had a $1.50 coupon for two of the boxes. The sad part is they are a favorite breakfast food and they were on closeout at the only place in town that stocked them :frowning:

Yippee! Bought our flight, HNL to DC for much less than expected. I had expected up to $1k, but after $100 coupon, it was under $600! We also won’t need a car in DC and only taxi back to airport!

My Kroger has air wick candles, refills, air fresheners etc for 50 cents!!! They were clearing out holiday scents such as apple pie. I loaded up my cart!

HImom, how did you have an airline coupon?

I had a big win yesterday too. We need to fly to D3’s school in Ithaca and I have to be in Charleston first while dh is flying from home. Kept waiting because it was so expensive, even when looking at Syracuse. There must have been some kind of sale yesterday because I was able to get both our tickets for $650 when I thought I’d have to pay $1350 the day before. It’s a 55 minute drive from Binghamton to Ithaca but dd can drive us one way and I’ll figure out the other way. Was very happy (and, it was a good reminder to look at other area airports).

We booked SW tickets yesterday also to Charleston from Hartford. When I looked a week ago, our tickets were going to be about $1200 for the two of us. Last night they were $980. Glad we waited. Also rented a car!

I got some new bed linens today at LLBean. They are having a 20% off white sale so I splurged. I used a VISA gift card that I have been hanging onto since Christmas …with the sale and also redeeming a few gift cards I had accumulated from my Christmas shopping I did there, I only had to spend $5.69 for quilt, shams, and flannel sheets

We had a rough time on several of our recent flights and I wrote a note to customer service after the flights and told them about our experiences. We each got a $150 travel certificate from one set of flight and each got a $100 travel certificate for our other set of flights. I guess my letter writing skills and status as a silver premier with the airlines counts for a bit, perhaps.

Went to Papyrus today. I had a coupon as a papyrus rewards member allowing me to get a free card up to $7.95 value with any store purchase. I purchased this beautiful Kelly Clinton card that was $6 on sale for $3.
With that I got a free card valued at $7.95. Total cost for the two cards $3. Savings $11.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the white sale @lje62 as I’ve had my eye on something at LL Bean. Nice to save the 20% off plus I used my $10 promotional gift card from a Xmas purchase I made.

Dorm room shopping already- at Bed Bath & Beyond- I got a Nautica quilt- very similar to the one DS has on his bed now- marked down from 99.99 to 29.99 plus the 20% coupon too!
