Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

@abasket, glad to hear that my tip helped! I feel so proud lol! I am quite a bargain shopper

Has anyone noticed that the stores are aggressively selling for Mother’s Day? I’ve seen some good sales.

The people I work with order Jimmy John’s a couple times a week - if you’re a JJ lover, you might want to wait in line for one of these $1 subs today between 11 and 3pm!

Carvel is giving free ice cream cones this afternoon. From 3-7 I think.

Thanks, abasket! I will spread the word that JJ is the place to avoid today.

I’ve been haunting places for a small bookshelf for our extra bedroom/den. I just didn’t want to spend a fortune on anything. Today I am led into a used furniture store I had never been into before. Found a really nice 42 inch high bookshelf…solid wood, light oak finish…perfect! $45.

Since I was out anyway…I stopped off at GW…got the cutest little dress…black with white swirls on it…brand spanking new…fits perfect. For $3.50. Perfect to wear to the August wedding we are attending…with my new patent leather pumps.

50% off sale at GAP today. Got son two polos for $5 each, daughter jeans for $13.50 and 5 pairs of socks for daughter at $1 each. Also for anyone interested 50% off sale at JCrew and 60% off sale at Lucky and Ann Taylor Loft right now.

^^What code did you use for the Gap? Today I am only seeing 30% with the code EXTRA when I open the web-page.

Through retailmenot you can get $25 amc theatre gift cards for $20.

FYI - Nordstrom is price matching some stuff. 30% off - they are not letting Saks grab all $$$.

Mandevillas arrived at Costco today and I happened to be there - they are exceptional and sell out fast. I’ve been on a watch for couple weeks- the store told me they get flower deliveries Monday and Friday’ and they never know what is coming - well, Thursday and I was there!
Oh - $24.99

Cost of a rental van for 10 days in July from LAX airport= $1500. Cost for rental van at hotel 1.5 miles away from LAX for same period - and pay on pickup = $613. Cost from hotel using “pay it now” option = $495. Cost for same van from hotel after signing up for Hertz free membership and prepaying = $445. Woo hoo.

You avoid airport taxes by renting that way but that would be a huge amount of tax!

Greenwitch, surprisingly, the airport tax can easily double the rate. Everyone loves to tax out of towners.

An always fun scavenger hunt trip to the Eddie Bauer WAREHOUSE today! A step beyond the outlet. Scored some green khaki shorts and an exercise magenta skort originally $60 for $12.99. But my best buy - these Ahnu sandals in a pretty periwinkle color : http://www.ahnu.com/women-yoga/serena/AF2475.html?source=ggl_ppc&gclid=Cj0KEQjwl-e4BRCwqeWkv8TWqOoBEiQAMocbPz6w6AS1HHH_L4E_UgSUcGZ7xSxPsYzX54kRsXQHL4gaAvEB8P8HAQ

Original price $85. Eddie Bauer sale, 70% off. It was Earth Day so they took an additional 10%. Then I showed my university ID (educator discount) and they took off another 15%! NUTS! I paid under $20 for those sandals!

@abasket Do all locations (outlet, regular retail) of Eddie Bauer give an educator’s discount? That would be good to know!

Today was the first time I used it there - at the warehouse - and I only pulled it out because I heard the register lady ask the person in front of me!

But a quick search showed this:

Thanks, @abasket! Great website, too! Makes me think I should just ask every time I go shopping!

Got graduation bubbles at 6/$1 at the Dollar Tree tonight. D wants to have them at her party and I had no idea you could buy them with tiny graduation caps! Graduation is 7 weeks from tomorrow!

Wow. Saks decided to keep up with Nordie’s and acquired Gilt!!

I had no idea until today - I got a card from Saks with a 30% off Gilt.
