Happy Birthday, @BunsenBurner! I know you look smashing in that new dress!
Happy Birthday @BunsenBurner. Iām sure he has great taste, because you have trained him well
Thank you all!
I feel very un-patriotic though⦠Despite the sales ads and coupons landing in my inbox today, and I have not bought a thing!
(I might make Amazon happy. Big kiddo requested a VERY fancy coffee machine for her b-day⦠Mr. vetoed it, but I think I am going to order it anyway.)
@BunsenBurner, I have a VERY Fancy coffee machine, and it makes me happy every morning.
How does the sizing run on the fleece jackets? I wear a size 10 pants normally. Would I be a medium or a small jacket? Iām 5ā7" and weigh 143 lbs.
@yellowgranite56 Here is the size chart that I used. Here is a better picture and size chart.

Bonton cancelled one of my jackets and they said their warehouses are all showing empty (even though you can still order online, the order may cancel). They made me reorder the jacket (and because the color I originally picked isnāt even on the list of choices anymore, I picked bluebell, in a small. They said they now manually check the stores for availability. However, I had to pay the higher price, and then call back when the order hit their system to get them to manually adjust the order to waive the shipping and discount the cost down to the $13.49 (or whatever it was). AND there is still no guarantee that they will find one. IF not, in a few days, this new order will be cancelled.
DD was shopping for a duvet set and had a 20% promo code that expired at midnight last night. We did not realized that the company was located on the East coast and try to do it after 9 pm our time. Of course it did not work. This morning DD emailed customer service and they gave her 20% refund on her order. I taught her well.
We had a productive IKEA shopping trip today and picked up a duvet, duvet cover and a few other items. I like that the duvet is wrapped in a tight, compact bundle. Itās also pretty light since itās just wrapped in plastic. No cardboard, etc. Weāll be able to pack it easily.
I noticed Aldiās of all places has stuff for the dorm at reasonable prices.
@jym626 you are having quite the time with bonton and their customer service. Iām sorry it has been so challenging. I placed two different orders with two items each. Received confirmation that one of the two items from the second order has shipped. Nothing from the first, so I emailed them. They emailed back apologizing that I never received shipping confirmation, but said I should receive that order by 7/9. :-? We shall see. At least they only put charges through once an item has shipped.
Yes - apparently the cc mommies are buying up their inventory!
I couldnāt decide to put this here or on the car rental thread, but I know you all appreciate a deal, so here I am! A month or so ago I booked a car through Costco for our upcoming vacation. The price was high at $279, but lower than hotwire or directly. I hadnāt heard of autoslash so didnāt try them. Last week I thought I would look again and I saw the price had gone down, so I booked again, this time for $207 and canceled my first car. Weāre leaving this weekend, so I thought I might as well look one more time - whoa! $129! So glad I booked with Costco where booking and canceling are easy.
I havenāt had much success with low car rental rare recently but am glad you have. I will be proactive with future rentalsāgreat deal! I love Costco car rentals too!
@raclut: āI noticed Aldiās of all places has stuff for the dorm at reasonable prices.ā
The supermarket chain? I thought it was a supermarket chain and clicked out to see if there were another entity carrying that name, but I got a supermarket. I couldnāt see anything for dorm living, though.
What do you see?
Aldi has a center aisle of āstuffā. You never know what you will find there. Itās just one aisle on the store. Doesnāt surprise me at all that there are college dorm things there!
I got a really nice quilt and shams there for $29.99 a couple of years ago!
My father bought a chain saw at Aldiās a couple of years ago because it was a great deal. Ask me what an 84 year old needs with a chain saw
Thank g-d he never used it!!
But it was such a deal!!!
@Waiting2exhale
Lets see at Aldiās I saw a tower fan for $20. Those folding crates(collapsible cube) made of cloth to store your things in. A night reading lamp. A waste basket. One of those things you carry to the hall showers where you can put all your soap and shampoo in. A folder thing with 20 slots to hold all your papers. It came with a handle.(expanding file) A mirror. Command strips. Rugs. Printer paper. I would check it out.
It was all in the center aisle of the Aldi store.

@raclut: Almost all items I would indeed buy for the college dorm. Girlie here informed me just yesterday that she does not like tower fans; donāt know what her problem is. Thanks.
