Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Great deals in BunsenBurner’s closet. If she would only loan us out some of it. >:D<

That’s some deal you got, BB!

Wow, the trench is the buy of the MONTH!!!

Well…this is hilarious. Bought DD a gorgeous petite sophisticate black blazer at Goodwill. It was half price for that color tag…$4.00. But wait…I just reached in the pocket, and there was $8 in the pocket!

That’s a buy of the year!!! Lol.

@thumper1 wins! I hope that continues to be her lucky blazer!

That’s beautiful, BB!

If anyone is in the market for a set of white china, I’ve just scored one for a great price. I needed to replace my set of Wedgwood Nantucket Basket (lost in divorce), and I didn’t want another set of NB because they’re very expensive and I’m not crazy about the basket part (too “blurry”). I happened to be in Home Goods today looking for something else when I saw a few very nice white dinner plates. I looked and they were Villeroy and Boch Manoir - for $5.99 each. Kept looking and found salad plates. Looked around more and found mugs and bowls. I ended up with plenty of salad and dinner plates and mugs, but only found 8 bowls. This is the pattern:

The smaller pieces were $4.99 each. I couldn’t find any rimmed soup plates but thought I’d look for some online and hope to find a good price. I checked out and was told that if I applied for a credit card, I could get 10% off. Then I went to another Home Goods and found 6 more plates. And I found the rimmed soup plates at Villeroy and Boch’s site, marked down to $10 each. The pattern has been discontinued and they are selling off what they have.

It’s very pretty in person, quite shiny, clearly porcelain.

NYMOM, very nice, easy on the eye. I wouldn’t have thought of going to a second store.

BB definitely has a black belt in shopping, as well as Thumper.

BB gets nice new upscale things. Thumper gets used stuff.

@NYMomof2 - very pretty! We just switched to simple white porcelain as well and absolutely love them.

If anyone lives in South Texas, our local supermarket chain, HEB, has several styles of Tervis tumblers on clearance with some as low as $4.59 (regular price $20 and up). One of the employees said that They received new stock and needed to clear the shelves. On top of that, they have a $5 off coupon so you guessed it some were FREE. I “bought” 14 of them to give to coworkers, etc. The savings on my receipt was so great at $285 that the cashier had to call his supervisor over to confirm he didn’t make a mistake.

Nothing wrong with buying used! I buy a bunch of used stuff on RealReal, too. I think it is an environmentally-friendly way of shopping.

(Mr. laughs that my commute is very expensive… If I miss my bus and have to wait for the next one, I often check the flagship Rack…)

Ok, so my dd made a Panera Rewards card for me but I never go there. She has her own card and goes there because it is on her college campus. I received an email today saying I can get a free bagel everyday in August.
I am trying to cut down on bread but thought to mention it so that you could check to see if you got this rewards email.

I’m LOL’ing at this because I DO have a Panera rewards card, I DON’T usually get their emails and I rarely go to Panera anymore because they closed the one convenient to us. However, I am meeting a friend at one in town later - I’ll have to see if they offer the free bagel!

I’m surprised if they are doing this in August - didn’t they just do a “free bagel everyday” in April??? (which seems like yesterday…)

Wooo!!! Southwest sale! D2 has been wanting to take a trip to Washington DC (last time we were there she was 5!) Just bought tickets for over her fall break - $82/each!!!

Now I need to find a decent hotel for a good price! (any suggestions for hotels in the city?)

I’m not sure how people are going to view this as a good buy Lol!

I’ve been looking at a s’well bottle but they are a little pricey. Teavana had a few styles on sale for 24.95 instead of $35. I bought one plus something else I wanted. Found a $10 off $40 plus free shipping FIRSTSIP and (hopefully) went through ebates. Also used my Starbucks card and got 70 stars.

I figure I got the s’well bottle for around $20 which I think was a good buy. An expensive water bottle for sure.

Cool on the trip to D.C. @abasket!

Boo! No free bagels on my Panera account! Oh well! I don’t really need to be eating bagels anyway,

Neither my friend or I had them on our accounts either - wonder if it was a newbie only perk.

Wonder if it’s regional. I’m in CT…no freebie bagels…and I don’t recall that offer in April either!
