Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

I had the same problem. The very fine print said items had to be sold by Amazon.com, not third parties.

I only spent $10 on Amazon today so did not get a discount. But I got a $25 bottle of wine at the Grocery Outlet this afternoon-it is wonderfully smooth and drinkable, and it only cost $6. We recently got some for a party, and every $5 wine we looked up had top ratings and many typically sell for quite a bit more.

I was able to use the code. Thanks @abasket . I had enough points from using the Amazon Visa card that my final price was a whopping 5 cents.

I saw the code this morning, but it didnt work for me either. So I sent it to my son to see if he could use the code (we share one account).

OK–the order for G’son’s gift said I got the discount on Amazon but where is it? It did not take it off of
the gift order. Is it lurking somewhere?
Last week I offered to take the longer delivery for $5 on the pantry only to spend time deciding what to buy–then found out I had to ā€œfill a basketā€. I cancelled the order and rendered.

oh! Just realized that because this is going to WA. I had to pay a sales tax. So the discount paid for that!
Thanks abasket! I always get upset over the tax thing.
Oregon has no sales tax. But we do make up for is 500% over on our property tax.
Thanks!

This seemed like a good buy to me…but I don’t do car rental often…
I booked a car for 3 days 20 hours for a trip to California through Costco for under $100 - and that was upgrading to a small SUV - $95 with taxes and everything - that seemed cheap - or is that average?

Tried the Alaffia Good soap bar today from Whole Foods. On sale for a $1.00 each. Quite moisturizing.

I came across a very nice Vince cashmere sweater at Nordstrom. It was just what I was looking for (short sleeve and longer) and was on sale, but at only 40% off, it was still too expensive. I checked Vince website, and certainly enough, there it was - 2/3 off.

It is a final sale, but I do not care - I know what size fits.

I got a coupon from Lord and Taylor for 10% off for cosmetics. I got a Prevage eye serum package, 170 value for 102. The salesperson then gave me a gift package with lipsticks, face serum, etc. As I was paying, I asked if she had any samples, she paused then said, ā€œI can up that.ā€ She gave me a full size summer face cream as a gift. I was smiling all the way home.

Just re-checked rates for our rental car in SF and was able to get it re-booked on Costco.com, reducing it from $485 down to $404 for 15 days. That means more money for fun! I’m happy!

Active Ankles (safety gear for my volleyball player) are usually $40 and I got them for $12 at a store going out of business.

Got a free bag at HermĆØs today … a free plastic bag (with their logo) for my very wet umbrella. And that was all I got, much to DH’s relief.

I got free annual membership at 24 Hour Fitness through my supplemental Medicare plan and attended my first Silver Sneakers class today.

My Kroger was clearing out wood chips for smokers last week. I bought 5 packages for $2.00 each. They currently sell on Amazon for $24.99. I am happy and DH is happier!!

I got a free session with a personal trainer from my gym. Now I just need to remember to use it before it expires.

I have these boots, I think MOWC got them also. I love them and they are so comfortable. They just went to 50% off. If they have your size left, these are a good buy. I wear one size down in Birkenstock’s.

Darn, not my size - I would have ordered in a heartbeat!

Me too!

OK-- please don’t laugh… but because I don’t want to give out my cell # to too many people, for a variety of reasons, we keep a landline. I am slowly moving towards getting it bundled onto our internet/cable, but first I had to take care of some things to allow me to today get rid of the second line and get the land line bill down 70%.I’ll give it maybe one billing cycle (because I already paid a bill and will have a credit) and, after making sure they didn’t screw it up and turn off the wrong #) I will look into porting the remaining landline to a bundled deal with our cable/internet. When I last checked, the cost for adding the landline would not increase my cable/internet bill at all. So the landline will cost nothing. And I’ll finally be able to block more than 8 numbers.
