CVS had its seasonal school supplies marked down 90% off clearance. I filled up three carts full of pencils, pens, erasers, notebooks, glue, folders, scissors, staplers, backpacks, notecards, locker mirrors and whiteboards. After coupons and extrabucks, my out of pocket was only $12, and I will all of bring this to the family resource center at the inner city school where I volunteer.

Just back from the Rack. D2 got a great pair of high waisted Hudson jeans she can wear to the new job she starts Monday (casual, young marketing firm) for $35, Zella workout pants $7 and a Splendid sweater for $18. We live close by so we are venturing back tomorrow to check out shoes!
I save a lot of money by not having great shopping in town. I have to drive 40 minutes to a Rack so it has to be a planned trip.
I did go to Macy’s today and bought a bra. It was on on sale and I saved an additional 25% by using my Macy’s card. The bra was $47 to start and ended up at just over $26. It was Calvin Klein which usually doesn’t go on a great sale in the “regular styles and colors”. I needed it for a specific tank top so I was happy to save. Our Macy’s is pretty pathetic and ended up without buying anything else.

Just found out that while she housesat for us, kiddo raided my tights drawer and depleted the supply of Wolford to critically low! Ordered a few pairs, thanks Saks. Winter is coming! Need to prepare.

Our Sak off fifth is closing. It didn’t last long and it was never a very good one. The one 45 minutes south of me has some good finds but the one in my city mainly had stuff that looked like it was made for the outlet.
I am curious as to how they will keep it competitive with the Rack. We don’t have a Saks in our state, so it is interesting that they went second tier to enter the local market where Nordie rules.

I needed two euro size pillows to stuff the decorative shams on our bed (no - they have embroidered orchids on them, not pineapples 
), so went to closest Macy’s. The store was surprisingly well organized, had a ton of inventory on the floor, and there were SAs asking if I needed help. Got a 2 pack for $35, which I thought was decent, but then the SA said I had a $10 off coupon. $25 got me the pillows. The store also has a Nespresso shop inside, so I got a few tubes of pods for my machine. I will go back to that Macy’s!
