@preppedparent, Love Target! This week they launched the new line of Hunter shoes, accessories, etc. I was too late to get the rain boots I wanted but did get several other things at reasonable prices.
Oâk I just bought a lifetime supply of taco spice and the heart and soul. What other spices are good? Fox point? The Paris one? Tuscany? Iâm also eyeing the cinnamon gift box for hostess gifts. Anyone try the Vietnamese cinnamon?
@gearmom - We use Fox Pointe all the time. I use it for veggies and chicken and fish etc. We also use Prime Rib seasoning on all out meats.
I bought their vanilla sugar which I havenât used yet but it sounds yummy for Christmas cookies.
I have a Penzeyâs across the street from where I work. I have never even gone inside. This thread makes me think maybe I should.
@Wellspring On the website posted above, you can get an in-store coupon to get the gift set for free. You wonât even need to worry about shipping.
Maybe Iâll cross the street tomorrow!
Mural of Flavor is great on fish and chicken. I love their garlic salt, Spanish smoked paprika, Mexican Vanilla, Double Strength Vanilla, Tuscan Seasoning, the high fat cocoa powder, Pie Spice, Baking Spice. The vanilla sugar is good but not super flavorful. I would probably not get it again. The cinnamons are good - I have tried the Ceylon and the Vietnamese and the Vietnamese is my favorite.
@wellspring - penzys sent email about absolutely free item give away if you go to store ( donât think they mention which spice )
Foxpoint is a top product - Iâve been following penzys spices fan club - Facebook group and you would be running across the street after seeing all their recipes and penzy spice love
The offer being discussed here ended at midnight.
BUT if you are across the streetâŠamble in every so often. They have freebies every so often. And reduced costs too!!
Iâm on the Penzeyâs e-mail list and @thumper1 is correct - freebies and deep discounts offered frequently. It seems like they have them at least twice a month and they usually have a shipping deal in conjunction with the offer.
Last week I got RT tickets on Jetblue from Hartford to DC for $92. Weâe going midweek to midweek, but, even so, weâve never gotten RT tickets that cheap. Definitely worth it to not drive.
2 weeks ago we had to buy a new bedroom tv (no one seems to fix TVs any more. Such a shame). It was on sale and had the base we needed (the cabinet itâs in has a pullout shelf and the new TVs with the feet donât sit right) Anyway, i got a text from an app I have that said the price had dropped again. Called the store and they credited my card about $32. Plus I got a small rebate from mrrebate. It all adds up.
Darn it, @deb922. I was shut off buying spices since the offer ended. But I did get 3 boxes of the heart and soul and that life time supply of taco spices among other things. Thanks for the heads up, @deb922 . Mr Penzysâs grouchiness has been great for my spice rack. Silver linings.
Went to my favorite fabric store to find fabric for master bedroom drapes and duvet and drove up to a âgoing out of businessâ sign. I found the perfect, absolutely gorgeous fabric and bought 20 yards for â $70! I went back today for three more yards of the bedroom fabric and to see if I could find some Sunbrella fabric to re-do the toss pillows on our patio furniture. Again, found the perfect fabric but it was just shy of the four yards I said I needed (really needed three, but I always buy an extra yard or two), the owner said she didnât want to re-roll such a small remnant and threw it in for free. Man, Iâm going to miss that place.
^^Nice find, @ChoatieMom although I bet you will miss that store!
My favorite posts on this thread are for items we can all buy but I decided to share my bargain here anyways. Weâre on a bucket list trip in Australia right now and decided to take a day trip from Sydney to the Blue Mountains yesterday. The train is a bargain at $10 f/t (2 hours each way) but, when you get there, the best way to get around is to take the hop on/hop off bus for $42 USD. I went to buy our tickets online the night before and saw there was a place to add a promo code so I googled the bus and, after unsuccessfully checking the first few hits, there was a travelzoo (a company Iâve bought items from at home) voucher for 2 bus tickets for $44. Worked like a charm and saved me $40 for just about zero effort.
So, just a reminder to check for discounts even when youâre traveling
Have a great time @collage1. I just got a hotel for a trip from travelzoo. It was a great deal and included parking.
Thanks, @deb922. Yes, I donât buy too often but the few times Iâve bought from travelzoo, Iâve gotten great deals. Sometimes I forget to use them when looking for hotels so thanks for the reminder!
Itâs not a bargain or anything but I found the must have item yesterday at a local drugstore.
Socks with Painter Bob design!!
Itâs not that his beautiful landscape was printed on the socks but Painter Bobâs smiling faces were scattered everywhere on the socks and in between the faces are âhappy cloudsâ and âhappy treesâ!!! Itâs so wacky and tacky I gotta have them for my D who always wears funky socks!!
Anyone interested in Cherylâs cookies? Their sale items seem to be a good deal. You can get 3 dozen cookies for $10 plus shipping. Passport members get free shipping. https://www.cheryls.com/cookie-gifts-on-sale
