I ordered the Special Extra bold peppercorns, and the California seasoned pepper, neither of which I’ve had before.
And I couldn’t resist ordering the small size of the Fox Point, which I love, so I can take it around with me when I travel.
It took a little while, but I was able to place my order. I haven’t tried Sunny Paris before, so decided to give it a go.
Thanks all. I did get an email (after I logged on at the designated time) and it explained about the codes. I think the notice on the website was pretty unclear. I did it, but it was difficult and I didn’t know that only certain spices were included so I was trying a few that it kept rejecting. Finally found 3 to work. And the system was really slow.
Hope it all works.
Just placed an order - for me this time! - and had no issues probably due to the later hour. In addition to the 3 items, I for a total of 6 items for $15.75 to get the free shipping and try out some other products.
I ordered the free spices for me (made a $15 order) and got the free spices for D (paid $7.95 shipping)
After the last fiasco (I still haven’t received my free box from the last offer), we will see how this one goes, lol!
The offer was confusing but it did end up working. I bought my free spices early and the site was fine but when I ordered my D’s, it was pretty slow and a bit glitchy.
Love to see all the Penzy support- just ordered, too. Paid shipping only $7.95
Free movie ticket promotion at Stop&Shop. Buy 6 items, which include Juicy Juice 64 oz bottles at 3/$1.88 each, and get a $15 Fandango code. Additionally, the Juicy Juice 64 oz bottles have their own codes that are buy 3 get a $7.50 movie ticket.
Used 6 of the .50/1 MFR coupons, 4 of which doubled, so I paid 6 x 1.88 = 11.28 - $5 coupons = $6.28, for 6 bottles and $30 worth of movie tickets. We don’t use the juice anymore, but I will donate them. I love going to the movies for free.
@deb922 Maybe it’s time to call Penzey customer service and check on the status of your first order, if you don’t get a shipping notice by next week.
I got an email from Penzey’s on Wednesday, the 23rd. It was mostly about the new offer that ended today, but it also had a statement that the last of the Heart and Soul orders would be shipping next week.
DH needed a new suit. Good sale at Jos.A. Banks. Needed a tie to coordinate .The one that went the best was marked $99. Um, no. Rang up as $24. Ok.
Got a quilt set from Macy’s on good sale and a cute Theory khaki skirt at the Rack for just $45 after the additional “clear the rack” 25% off.
Just checked the price tag on the skirt… $215 originally. Not that I would have ever paid that much, but still! And it fits! I bought it without trying on because I wanted to get home faster.
25% off many things on Rack online, too.
The quilt set is a very nice quality. $72 for a king quilt and 2 shams is a good deal, IMO. Original price $180. And just got an email that I earned $20 in Star Money. Lol, they are after Kohl’s with its Kohl’s bucks.
I got a lovely Michael Kors medium tote bag in a teal blue (mediteranean blue) for $1.60 after using my Macy’s and ebates rewards. (no that is not a typo)

Not a big bargain, but… went to dinner at a local Cuban place. Service was terrible and then they brought our food to the wrong table. We were very understanding, never complained. The manager spontaneously came over, told us he was aware they served our food to the wrong table, and comped the whole meal. Only about $35 (we asked so we could tip, even though the service was really pretty awful… but we tip anyway) so we know what the total was that we didn’t pay.
Another good deal- sorta. We picked up our rental car. Believe it or not, the cheapest we could get with our preferred company (Hertz) was a midsize suv for $30/day plus all the junk fees. I was told to ask if they had any managers specials, but apparently between the holiday weekend and several college graduations this weekend the rates are high. But we happen to be high frequency renters so they took us out to the lot and said “pick a car”. So, for the price of our rental we are in an Infiniti QX30. She apologized because it wasn’t washed. Big deal. It’s raining anyway.
H and I stopped in at the big 2 thrift stores in the part of town we were visiting today and I found some good deals-summer clothes originally from Macy’s, Kohls, Coldwater Creek, and even Sigrid Olsen. I got 6 tops an a skirt for $20. But the best part was that at Value Village, they announced that the first person to go to customer service and say “Arrgh” into the microphone would get a $2 off coupon. I was so close to CS that I SAW him, soI went over an “arrghed” an got not one, for TWO dollars off for my trouble. It was a fun way to end our 3-day “staycation”.
I got free shipping from JoAnn’s Fabric today. I needed to order some NFL and college team fleece from teams not in my area. It was on sale for 50% off (good price for licensed fleece) and the free shipping sealed the deal.
Also got Pandora charms and bracelets on a Brad’s Deal for 50-70%. One will be a Christmas gift so I’m officially shopping for Christmas (the fleece too).
Stopped into a LL Bean outlet as we never know what we can find there, and DH had to return a dress shirt that had stiching on the shoulder open up - he has only washed/worn it maybe 2 or 3 times, since he got it around Easter. I found myself looking for a new winter coat - my last one was pretty ragged but in the winter time in New England, I aim for warmth over fashion. I found a classic navy long wool coat marked down 80% off - so it was only $29. Score! Additionally, when I tried it on, DH asked if I had lost weight!
I never would have thought, I would think a $350 fan was a good buy. I am usually very frugal. Yet my husband and I purchased a Dyson tower fan a few days ago and I’m happy with no buyer’s remorse.
So how can a ‘$350 plus tax’ fan feel like a good buy? Well, first of all our bedroom is on the second floor of our home, facing southwest. It’s good when it’s cold out, but not as good in the summer. Yes, we have central air conditioning, but that corner of our house is still warmer. Our frugal selves have resisted the temptation of setting the thermostat low enough to make it cool in our room, because our downstairs would get too cold. We also thought of exploring ductwork changes, but it seemed like too much trouble.
So for years my husband and I have talked about getting a ceiling fan. But we never did, probably because it doesn’t stay consistently hot/uncomfortable for extended periods of time in our area. Also, our house is on the older side and we’d probably have to hire someone to have a fan properly installed.
Now, I’m at that age where I feel my ‘internal thermostat’ is broken and my tolerance of being hot has diminished. So we were debating what we should do. I stumbled upon a Bed Bath and Beyond ad with Dyson fans at $50 off. That was still more than I thought I wanted to spend, but I figured we could try it and return it without much hassle, if we didn’t like it.
Voila! We’ve used it for several nights. It’s quiet, doesn’t bother the dog and moves the air enough to help with cooling. It’s a keeper. It isn’t cheap, but it should serve its purpose.
