Your Google doppelganger

I think—that is, I may have simply missed it—nobody’s guessed mine yet. A couple close ones, though.

ETA: Of course, if someone did get it I wouldn’t tell, though I daresay I’ve left enough personal information on these fora that I’d be easy enough to track me down anyway.

My only googleganger lives in another country. She has a Facebook page (and I don’t) and is quite a bit younger (and quite pretty) so I don’t mind anyone mistaking her for me.

I guessed and confirmed by myself in 30 secs. I think anonymity is an illusion for many on here. Hope that is okay.

Emmy-winning production designer.

Mine is a name associated with a pretty well known college.

^ Hmm, so is my son’s.

Your avatar is spot on, btw. I was thinking about posting my pic, but my cats are too precious to be replaced!!

(I have a deep respect for folks in your field. My mom has a degree in the same field.)

@dfbdfb, that is true, you have.

Just tried with my kids. They have their dad’s last name, which is somewhat unusual. For D2, there is another teen girl with her name, but most of the listings are hers. Pulled up a drop dead gorgeous shot of her (one of her senior photos) in the images – looks like it is her LinkedIn profile shot – pretty sure it will help her get hired in the science or tech world. And a video of her high school senior performance.

D1 has some doppelgangers, they are all in Europe. Not surprising, as she has a Germanic first and last name.

That’s the problem with a thread like this; certain posts act like a tease that encourage Googling. All the info that was there previously was sufficient for identification but there was no spark to induce Googling. The inducement to Google is only a problem if you prefer anonymity; as @Hanna has pointed out, some folks include their names and pictures and are happy to participate fully without the cloak of anonymity.

When you think about it, this forum is remarkably civil compared to the rest of the Internet, given that most of us choose to participate anonymously.

Anyway, I hope that Googling wasn’t a violation of anyone’s privacy; I feel strangely guilty about it!

Do not feel guilty, nottelling. We do it in good faith with good intentions and do not reveal our search results. It is not YSMB where folks who crawl form under the Aurora bridge need to be busted.

My D’s is a famous record producer in a foreign land (and her name is very unusual) - mine comes up twice, a well heeled attorney (female) and a not so famous actor (male) - I am female

My Googleganger is a new sanchor in LA and we have eerily similar gmail addresses, ugh the interweb has its downside.

Mine isn’t even the same race as me.
