We no longer have ours…but we had it for a LONG time. Definitely retro!
When my in laws moved to AL, my SIL took pretty much everything that they weren’t taking. She decided what H would get. They had a beautiful wood metronome that my S had always loved. SIL mentioned something about taking it for her S. I was a bad girl & packed it up for S, who was thrilled to get it. He’s a drummer, so keeping a beat means something to him.

My kids still use that! It’s better than an electronic one because you can see the thingy moving.
Back in college my prized possession was a Smith-Corona typewriter that used cartridges instead of ribbons. You could eject the black ink cartridge, plug in the eraser cartridge and type in white over to erase a letter or word. It sure beat using white-out!

That came after the Kodak instamatic.
The first Instamatic camera was released in 1963, while the Polaroid OneStep came out in 1977.
Nobody ever said that “coolest retro tech models” had to be the oldest.

Just noting that some remember the predecessors. And “coolest” is subjective. So I changed the thread title to “memorable”. There are still cameras that instantly print photos. My granddaughter has one.
There’s still portable audio. That doesn’t mean the Walkman, the Discman, or the various iterations of the iPod are any less cool or memorable.

True but we are talking about different generations.
And two different things. The Polaroid printed the photographs in a different way than before. I remember being wowwed by that. Seems silly to quibble over which was older, and not in the spirit of this thread.

My H had a pager in his early career because he was on call for his plant 24/7. I had one for a year or two when I took administrative on call for the a hospice where I worked. So annoying!
There is such a wide age range of people on this site. I haven’t seen IRL a bunch of stuff that has been posted on this thread. Shouldnt stop anyone for sharing obsolete stuff from their own childhoods regardless of decade!
